Guy Fieri’s The Ringer Burger

Can you believe we're sharing this recipe? Guy's going to be so mad! (Just kidding. Guy thinks it’s awesome and wants you to enjoy it.)
SERVES: 1
TOTAL TIME: 15 Minutes
DIFFICULTY: 2/5
Ingredients:
Grab these ingredients, and you’ll be channeling your inner Guy Fieri in no time:

- 5 oz ground beef (80/20 blend)
- ½ oz cheese sauce (e.g., Velveeta)
- ½ oz thinly sliced sweet onion
- 1½ oz finely shredded iceberg lettuce
- 1 slice of American cheddar cheese
- 1 thin slice of beefsteak tomato
- 3 paper-thin slices of kosher dill pickle
- 2 tbsp “Donkey Sauce” (recipe below)
- 1 large crispy onion ring
- 1 tbsp Guy Fieri Bourbon Brown Sugar BBQ Sauce (available in stores)
- Kosher salt, for seasoning
Here’s where Guy would usually crack a joke about buns. We don’t have any bun jokes up our sleeve, so let’s just dive into the ingredients:
- 1 soft hamburger bun, halved
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- ¼ tsp garlic paste
Prepare the Donkey Sauce using these ingredients (yields about 1 cup):
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- ¼ cup roasted garlic
- 1 tsp yellow mustard
- 4 dashes of Worcestershire sauce
- ¼ tsp kosher salt
- 4 pinches of ground black pepper
Let’s Get Started
Crafting the burger:
- Preheat a flat-top grill or cast iron skillet over very high heat. Shape the ground beef into a tight ball and season it with salt. Place the beef ball on the grill to sear for 45 seconds, then press it down with a heavy spatula to flatten it to about ⅓ inch thickness.
- Cook for 90 seconds to create a crust on the first side, then flip it and cook for another minute on the other side to form another crust. Pour the cheese sauce over the hamburger and top it with a slice of cheese. (This is where the magic happens.)
- Mix the garlic with melted butter. Brush the inside of the bun halves with this mixture and toast them on the grill or in the pan for 3-4 seconds, until they’re golden and crispy. Flip them and toast for another 3-4 seconds to lightly brown the outsides as well.
Preparing the sauce:
- Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl until well combined.
- That’s it — you’ve just created Donkey Sauce!
Assembling the burger:
- Spread Donkey Sauce on the cut side of both halves of the bun.
- Add pickle slices and the burger patty on the bottom half.
- Top the burger with a crispy onion ring, BBQ sauce, sliced onions, tomato, and lettuce.
- Now for the tricky part: place the top half of the bun on top.
- Fancy bonus! Nope, not this time. This recipe isn’t for fancy folks… it’s for everyone.
