Hilton unveils three exciting new perks: complimentary early upgrades for Honors members, digital key-sharing, and the option to reserve connecting rooms.

According to a press release on October 20, Hilton has introduced these three new benefits for guests, which include early upgrades at no extra cost for elite Hilton Honors members, digital key-sharing capabilities, and the ability to book connecting rooms.
Among the highlights is the launch of complimentary room upgrades for qualifying elite members, specifically Gold and Diamond Hilton Honors members, who will be informed of their upgrade 72 hours before check-in. Upgrades are available for stays of seven nights or less.
"Eligible members will receive an email and a push notification from the Hilton Honors app alerting them to their complimentary room upgrade," Hilton stated. "If the hotel participates in Digital Check-In, members can easily select their upgraded room's location via the app 36 hours prior to their arrival."
This early confirmation will be offered at Hilton brands that typically provide space-available upgrades, such as Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts, LXR Hotels & Resorts, Conrad Hotels & Resorts, Canopy by Hilton, Hilton Hotels & Resorts, Curio Collection by Hilton, DoubleTree by Hilton, Signia by Hilton, and Tapestry Collection by Hilton.
In addition, Hilton has launched a digital key-sharing feature that enables guests to share their digital room access across all 18 hotel brands. This functionality allows multiple guests to utilize the digital key through the Hilton Honors app, which offers a virtual version of a room key.
This digital key technology is especially beneficial for families or groups sharing a room, and it is currently available at over 80% of Hilton properties worldwide, providing a hassle-free way to enter rooms without needing a physical key.
Hilton intends to implement its shareable digital key technology at the remaining hotels in the upcoming months. Since its launch in 2015, guests have successfully used the service to open more than 135 million guestroom doors, which has also contributed to a reduction of 125 tons in plastic waste for the brand.
"Our guests are always at the center of our efforts, and we strive to listen, adapt, and innovate to offer them greater choice and control over their hotel experience," said Hilton CCO Chris Silcock in a press release. "Our technology initiatives prioritize the guest experience, and as travel resumes, we are excited to enhance Hilton guests' stays with seamless and flexible options that enable them to focus on creating lasting memories."

Hilton has reintroduced its Confirmed Connecting Rooms program, enabling guests to reserve and confirm at least two connecting rooms when booking directly through Hilton or the Hilton Honors app at participating locations.
"Guests can easily book and confirm connecting rooms in just three steps: first, choose the number of rooms, destination, and dates; next, indicate the preference for connecting rooms; and finally, select the specific rooms and complete the booking with instant confirmation," Hilton explained in a statement.
These app features represent Hilton's broader initiative to enhance the hotel experience for travelers, providing greater flexibility, which has become increasingly important in the current travel landscape.
"These advancements are part of Hilton's commitment to enriching the digital welcome experience for our valued guests and Hilton Honors members," the hotel chain stated. "These enhancements offer greater flexibility, allowing travelers to relax and fully enjoy their destinations, whether for business or leisure, with family or friends."
