JetBlue Launches Impressive New In-Sky Suites for Transatlantic Journeys
JetBlue is set to enhance comfort in the friendly skies.
In March, the airline introduced its revamped Mint experience, representing the first complete redesign of Mint tailored specifically for transatlantic flights.
The updated Mint class on JetBlue's A321 aircraft features 24 private suites, each with a sliding door for ultimate privacy. Every seat is equipped with a custom-designed cushion by Tuft & Needle, which can be transformed into a fully flat bed, allowing passengers to sleep soundly from takeoff to landing.
Thanks to JetBlue for this insightJoanna Geraghty, president and COO of JetBlue, remarked, "Mint was created to transform premium travel in the U.S. into a more enjoyable and accessible experience. Its success has surpassed our most hopeful projections, extending beyond just New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. It's incredible how Mint's thoughtful design has connected with travelers as we've expanded it to over 30 routes. We truly dedicated ourselves to this Mint redesign, inspired by our core vision of providing an outstanding experience at lower prices—embodying what JetBlue stands for."
The airline's collaboration with Acumen Design Associates facilitated this redesign. JetBlue announced that the first travelers to experience the revamped Mint will do so on its London routes launching this summer. Additionally, a 16-seat configuration will be introduced on select flights between New York and Los Angeles in 2021.
A big shoutout to JetBlue for this updateThe airline emphasized, "Every detail is designed with the customer in mind." Each suite includes a tilting 17-inch Thales AVANT seatback display, wireless charging options, an integrated phone ledge, in-seat power, and dedicated storage for laptops, shoes, and handbags.
The 16-seat configuration will feature two Mint Studio suites, designed by Acumen in collaboration with AIM Altitude. JetBlue claims these suites provide the most spacious premium experience offered by any U.S. airline.
According to the airline, each aircraft will have two Mint Studios located in the front row, offering generous space for both work and relaxation. These studios will include a 22-inch tilting Thales AVANT seatback screen, an additional side table for enhanced productivity, and a guest seat that can accommodate another Mint customer at cruising altitude.
In addition to lay-flat beds, the revamped Mint seats will come equipped with sleep accessories developed with Tuft and Needle, featuring a convertible blanket with a built-in foot pocket, a memory foam-lined pillow with a case, and matching eye mask and earplugs.
While the airline has not disclosed specific flights for the new offering or confirmed pricing, The Points Guy highlighted that JetBlue often lists transcontinental Mint fares starting at $529 each way. Keep an eye out for booking opportunities for your Mint flight later this year.
