What Exactly is Bluegreen Vacations?
You can purchase timeshare properties or shares through Bluegreen Vacations. The company conducts timeshare presentations at many locations, allowing travelers to attend in exchange for discounted nights and other perks.
Most Bluegreen Vacations resorts feature accommodations ranging from studio suites to three-bedroom condos. Typically, each unit comes equipped with a full kitchen, living room, dining area, balcony or porch, and laundry facilities including a washer and dryer.
Bluegreen Vacations boasts resorts across the United States. While you can purchase a timeshare interest at these resorts, you can also book your stay through Choice Hotels, even if you’re not interested in buying a timeshare or attending a presentation.

How to Reserve Bluegreen Vacations via Choice
Booking a Bluegreen Vacations location through Choice Hotels resembles the process of reserving a hotel room. Begin on the regular search page and look for stays at destinations featuring Bluegreen Vacations properties. Alternatively, you can visit the specific property’s landing page on Choice Hotels.
Most travelers aiming to book a Bluegreen Vacations site through Choice likely have a particular property in mind. I suggest starting at that property's landing page (you can access each property from the list of Bluegreen Vacations properties on the Choice Hotels site).
Ideally, you would be able to navigate a calendar for a specific property to check available dates for booking with cash or points. However, I’ve noticed these calendars often display no availability even when there are options. It’s best to check all the dates you may wish to book.
Despite the dashes, availability exists for stays from Oct. 6-8. CHOICEHOTELS.COMRegrettably, you can only use Choice points for bookings within the next 100 days, and paid rates can only be booked for stays within the next 50 weeks. Therefore, finding availability at certain properties on specific dates may prove challenging.
Several Bluegreen Vacations locations also impose unpublished minimum stay requirements when reserving through Choice Hotels, so if your travel dates are flexible, try searching for different lengths of stay. From my experience, many properties typically require a minimum stay of two nights.
After identifying a Bluegreen Vacations property with available dates through Choice Hotels, check the room types eligible for booking with points. You might discover that multibedroom units accommodating a large family (or a group of friends) can be reserved for the same points as a studio suite or one-bedroom unit.
It's also beneficial to explore paid rates, which can be quite reasonable for certain properties on select dates. For instance, consider a two-night stay at the Bluegreen Vacations Fountains, Ascend Resort Collection.
You could redeem 30,000 points per night for either room option. Alternatively, you might opt to pay a total of $357 for a two-bedroom unit featuring two single beds and one queen bed, or $374 for a unit with a king bed and two double beds, resulting in a redemption rate of 0.59 to 0.62 cents per point. According to TPG's July 2024 valuations, Choice points are valued at 0.6 cents each, so if you have fewer points, it may be wiser to book a paid stay where you can typically redeem points at a better rate.
As of this publication, the award rates remain consistent across all Bluegreen Vacations properties available through Choice Hotels. Specifically, Sunday to Thursday nights require 25,000 points, while Friday and Saturday nights demand 30,000 points until September 15. From September 16 to November 30, all nights will cost 20,000 points per room. Award rates for stays beginning December 1 have yet to be announced by Choice.

Final thoughts
Even if you have no interest in buying a Bluegreen Vacations timeshare, staying at one of their resorts can be a delightful experience. Fortunately, the collaboration between Choice Hotels and Bluegreen Vacations allows members to book stays, even using Choice points.
When redeeming Choice points or booking a standard rate through Choice Hotels, there's no need to attend a timeshare presentation. However, be cautious of promotions that may require you to attend one for discounted rates — always check the fine print if you'd prefer to avoid spending part of your vacation in a timeshare presentation.
