Six Senses Telluride is set to open in 2028

One of the most opulent brands under IHG Hotels & Resorts is preparing for its debut in the U.S. mountains.
IHG announced on Monday that Six Senses Telluride will open in 2028. This Colorado destination will feature 77 rooms and 24 residences, marking IHG's first luxury resort and residential property in North America's Mountain West region. Nestled in a box canyon above Telluride, it is surrounded by the majestic San Juan Mountains — a fitting name for such lofty peaks.
A gondola for pedestrians links Mountain Village to the historic Telluride in just 13 minutes. The resort will be located 7 miles from Telluride Regional Airport (TEX), 68 miles from the better-connected Montrose Regional Airport (MTJ), and 387 miles from Denver International Airport (DEN).

This year-round destination is perfect for winter ski enthusiasts or those wanting to immerse themselves in nature during spring and summer. Six Senses Telluride represents IHG's new ultraluxury brand expansion in the Americas, which also includes the upcoming Regent Santa Monica Beach in Southern California. Additionally, IHG has plans for new U.S. locations in Napa Valley and the South Carolina islands.
Earlier this year, Six Senses La Sagesse debuted in Grenada, with Six Senses Grand Bahama in the Bahamas and Six Senses Xala along Mexico's Pacific coast currently under development. IHG has acquired Six Senses and Regent recently to enhance their ultraluxury offerings beyond the InterContinental Hotels & Resorts brand.
In Colorado, the Six Senses team is committed to preserving the unique character of each property’s surroundings — a principle TPG has observed during visits to the brand's sites in Rome and Thailand.
"Being actively involved in the local community is crucial for us, so there's no better place to kick off our North American mountain journey than Telluride, with Mountain Village's global sophistication and the town's charming old-world atmosphere," said Six Senses CEO Neil Jacobs in a statement. "Having lived in the Colorado Rockies during the 1980s, I can confirm that the mountain setting naturally supports our values of wellness and sustainable development today."

The guest accommodations, including family rooms and suites, are designed with natural materials that reflect the local environment and heritage, featuring local stone and cedar siding. The 24 branded residences will offer options from two to five bedrooms.
Both guests and residents can look forward to services such as a ski concierge and dedicated experience teams ready to provide top recommendations for hiking, rafting, and exceptional dining in the area. Dining options at Six Senses Telluride will include a specialty restaurant, an omakase venue, a rooftop pool spot (set to be the only one of its kind in Telluride), and a speakeasy.
Naturally, since this is Six Senses, health and wellness take center stage in the guest experience. Six Senses Spa Telluride will offer a hammam, cryotherapy, and ancient healing practices that incorporate sound and touch.
In summary: If you come feeling stressed, we can almost guarantee you’ll leave rejuvenated by checkout.
