The eagerly awaited Regent Santa Monica Beach will debut on October 1

This is one of the most awaited hotels in the U.S., set to open at the start of October.
Regent Santa Monica Beach is confirmed to officially commence operations on October 1, as announced by the hotel's general manager, Younes Atallah, during a press conference at the International Luxury Travel Market North America conference in the Bahamas. This hotel signifies the Regent brand's return to the U.S., being the first under IHG's ownership since they acquired the brand in 2018. The ultraluxury brand has impressed both loyal Regent patrons and new guests with recent openings in Vietnam, the French Riviera, and Hong Kong.
Travelers eager to experience Regent Santa Monica Beach can secure their stay through the hotel's booking page. Reservations can also be made via the IHG One Rewards app. Rates for the opening night next week begin at $1,184 or 166,000 IHG One Rewards points, as stated on the Regent Santa Monica Beach website.
Regent Santa Monica Beach is providing future guests with a 24% discount on bookings made through the end of this year. Additionally, guests will receive a $240 credit applicable to any of the resort's restaurants and bars, Guerlain Spa, or towards resort fees and parking.

Regent Santa Monica Beach is set to impress
The property in Santa Monica, California, is set to feature a restaurant by celebrity chef Michael Mina, a sprawling 10,000-square-foot Guerlain Spa, an oceanfront pool deck, and dedicated beach butler service. After an extensive renovation costing over $150 million, transforming what was once a Loews hotel, Regent Santa Monica Beach is anticipated to become Regent's flagship location in the Americas.
The ambiance exudes California chic: A palm-lined lobby adorned with white furnishings and marble floors seems like the perfect setting for a Nancy Meyers film—if the director ever decides to return to capturing those stunning aspirational architectural scenes.
Describing the 143 guest rooms and 24 suites at Regent Santa Monica Beach as spacious is an understatement. The entry-level room, aptly named 720 for its generous starting square footage, offers seven different layouts ranging from 720 to 895 square feet. Choices include views of the pool, city, or ocean, along with options for balconies or private patios featuring fire pits.
The one-bedroom suites at Regent Santa Monica Beach come in five distinct configurations, measuring between 950 and 1,400 square feet. Guests can enjoy views of the pool, city, or ocean, with corner suite choices such as the Malibu Oceanfront Corner One-Bedroom Suite King.
For the ultimate indulgence, Regent offers its Signature Suites, available in six configurations from 1,200 to 3,200 square feet. These include the Poolside Townhouse, Oceanfront Corner Terrace Suite, Pacifica Oceanfront Suite, Oceanfront Two-Story Atrium Suite, Malibu Sunset Suite, and the Santa Monica Presidential Suite, which boasts four Juliet balconies and a game room.

Discover IHG's hidden ultraluxury treasure
The imminent launch of Regent Santa Monica Beach marks a significant achievement for IHG, with high stakes for the brand's success.
IHG's acquisitions of Six Senses and Regent were strategic moves to enhance its ultraluxury portfolio, surpassing the InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, previously the brand's top luxury offering.
With no Six Senses hotel yet operating in the U.S., Regent Santa Monica Beach will introduce one of IHG's new ultraluxury options to American travelers. Recent openings like Regent Phu Quoc, Regent Hong Kong, and Carlton Cannes have impressed guests around the world.
Regent's hallmark features—like "personal havens" (luxurious rooms and suites that rival the allure of the hotel itself) and "with compliments" (perks such as complimentary minibars and free laundry services)—position the brand as IHG's formidable contender against larger ultraluxury offerings like Four Seasons and St. Regis.
Regent's interactive Taste Studio has garnered a loyal following, with travelers specifically choosing to stay at Regent hotels for its unparalleled dining experience worldwide. It's akin to the devoted fanbase of Aman's, often referred to as "Aman junkies" within travel circles.
While Regent will encounter stiff ultraluxury competition in Southern California, it makes its debut in Santa Monica with distinctive offerings and a prime location boasting views of the Pacific Ocean.
This unique blend of features is set to enhance the brand's return to the U.S. and elevate the hospitality landscape in Greater Los Angeles.
