The Ultimate Breakfast Guide for Disney World
At Walt Disney World, breakfast can be anything from hot dogs by 10 a.m. to last night’s desserts serving as morning treats, and even the Dole Whip stand opens earlier than most workdays. There truly are no breakfast rules here.
While choices are endless, deciding to sit down for a hearty breakfast of eggs, bacon, and toast can be a tough choice: either you sacrifice valuable early-morning park time (when lines are shorter) or miss out on the essential fuel needed for a long day.
There are some excellent breakfast spots on the property, but you’ll need to know where to find them. That’s why we’ve pinpointed the best breakfast tacos for a quick bite, specialty items worth pausing for, and when to rely on those emergency granola bars in your bag.
Craving caffeine? We’ve listed the top spots for a quick coffee fix below, but check out Dinogo’s comprehensive coffee and tea guide for details on where to get your caffeine boost throughout the day.
The renowned Cat Tail pastry at Cheshire CaféMagic Kingdom
With the new park entry rules, having a reservation doesn’t get you into the park as early as before. Character dining options include the Crystal Palace buffet with Winnie the Pooh & Friends (Eeyore is a must-see) or the iconic Cinderella’s Royal Table, featuring princess visits in the castle’s upper chambers. The only other sit-down choices are Plaza Restaurant, which has recently started serving breakfast, and Be Our Guest (more on that shortly).
Notable breakfast treats include the Cheshire Café’s signature “cat tail,” a Danish pastry with pink and purple icing, and the warm jumbo cinnamon roll at Gaston’s Tavern; both are decent but not exceptional. If you’re in the mood for a macaroni-and-cheese-topped hot dog, Cosmic Ray’s, Lunching Pad, and Casey’s Corner offer lunch fare starting at 10 a.m., with the ever-popular Dole Whip available from 9 a.m.
Top Pick: Sleepy Hollow’s freshly made sweet and savory waffle sandwiches are a treat, especially if you opt for the Mickey-shaped version. (Heads up: the ham, egg, and cheese waffle sandwich is available until noon.) Avoid: Be Our Guest. While it’s a hot spot, breakfast here is chaotic with its pre-order system, which detracts from the enchanting Beauty and the Beast-themed ambiance. The food is quick but pricey and not worth the splurge. Coffee: For a caffeine fix, visit the Main Street Bakery (halfway down Main Street on the right) where you’ll find the park’s Starbucks, or head to Joffrey’s Revive stand in Tomorrowland (by Space Mountain) for good coffee without the long wait.
Delicious sweet and savory treats at Woody’s Lunch BoxDisney’s Hollywood Studios
Breakfast options are scarce in this classic Hollywood setting, with many quick-service spots opening with lunch menus during peak times. However, you can always rely on grab-and-go items like the whoopie pie-style carrot cake cookie at the Trolley Car Café Starbucks. For a sit-down meal, Hollywood & Vine offers character dining with Disney Junior stars, featuring omelets and Mickey waffles.
Top Pick: Woody’s Lunch Box in Toy Story Land. This quick-service spot offers unique breakfast treats, including a hearty scrambled-egg bowl with smoked brisket, gravy-laden tater tots, and a s’mores French toast breakfast sandwich made with graham-crusted brioche. It’s less sugary than it sounds, and you can use Disney’s mobile-ordering service to skip the line. Avoid: Avoid having lunch fare at 10 a.m. as it’s not the best choice. Coffee: For your caffeine fix, visit the Starbucks at Trolley Car Café (at the end of the central stretch, right side) or grab a coffee from the Joffrey’s stand near the entrance of Toy Story Land.
Cheesy stuffed croissants at Les Halles BoulangerieEpcot
At Epcot’s World Showcase, you can enjoy international fare in themed pavilions throughout the day, but only Mexico, Norway, and France are open before 11 a.m. If you’re exploring these areas — perhaps for a morning ride on Frozen Ever After — Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe offers delightful Scandinavian pastries and a salmon-and-egg bagel.
Sitting down for breakfast won’t ruin your plans. Enjoy a hearty breakfast platter with Chip ’n’ Dale, Pluto, and Mickey Mouse at Garden Grill or dine with a host of princesses at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in Norway, the park’s two character dining spots. If you’re spending the morning in Future World between Fastpass reservations, Sunshine Seasons is a great choice for a quick bite, offering a souffle, croissant egg sandwich, and healthier options like a tofu wrap and overnight oats.
Top Pick: Les Halles Boulangerie in the France pavilion of World Showcase. This bakery tempts with a selection of croissants, chocolate-filled pastries, ham- and cheese-stuffed croissants, quiches, and croque monsieurs. Avoid: Waiting until World Showcase opens at 11 a.m. Have a snack, even if it’s just a piece of fruit — you’ll want to pace yourself for the day ahead. Coffee: Starbucks here is known as Fountain View; it’s on your right past Spaceship Earth, across from the fountain. For a quicker fix, Joffrey’s Coffee kiosks are located near the monorail station, by Test Track, and within World Showcase.
An egg sandwich with herbed hash-brown bites at Yak & YetiDisney’s Animal Kingdom
If your morning plans include the ever-popular Avatar: Flight of Passage, bypass the mediocre pastries at nearby stands and send someone in your group to grab French toast sticks, sausage-and-egg biscuits, or sweet pineapple lumpia from the Pongu Pongu stand in Pandora. The line now winds through an outdoor path between Pandora and Africa, making it easier to navigate than the previous, more convoluted queue system — a win for Disney fans.
For sit-down meals, your options are Tusker House, offering a character breakfast buffet with a mix of tasty dishes and African specialties like mealie pap and beef bobotie, or Rainforest Cafe, which is less ideal. Tusker House features classic characters such as Mickey, Daisy, Donald, and Goofy, along with some of the best breakfast fare in the park.
Top Pick: Yak & Yeti Local Foods Cafe in Asia. This quick-service spot serves up a variety of breakfast sandwiches — bacon and egg on challah toast, sausage and egg on an English muffin — along with breakfast burritos and tacos, all accompanied by herbed hash-brown bites. Avoid: Kusafiri Coffee Shop in Africa. The oversized Mickey-shaped cinnamon roll here isn’t as impressive as it looks on Instagram. Coffee: Creature Comforts houses the park’s Starbucks (located to the left of the Tree of Life), but if you’re heading towards DinoLand U.S.A., Isle of Java is a more convenient choice.
Tonga toast at the Polynesian VillageAround the Resort
All Disney Resort hotels serve breakfast, but only a few are worth adjusting your plans for:
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort: Kona Cafe is renowned for its loco moco and macadamia-nut pancakes, but it’s best known for the famous Tonga Toast — a cinnamon sugar-crusted, banana-stuffed sourdough loaf. Reservations can be challenging to get, so you might also grab the toast to go (without strawberry compote) at Capt. Cook’s.
Disney’s Yacht Club: Ale & Compass features one of the finest breakfast buffets on property (including whitefish salad!) with a modest additional cost, alongside a range of creative entrees that are currently reasonably priced.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge: Sanaa’s compact but hearty breakfast menu, combined with close-up views of animals, makes it a consistently excellent choice.
Disney’s BoardWalk Inn: For a touch of princess magic for the kids and an excellent table-service breakfast for you, featuring dishes like poached eggs with fennel sausage and sopressata-stuffed breakfast calzone, head to Trattoria al Forno. It’s a cut above the usual character buffets.
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa: While 1900 Park Fare is the go-to for character dining, Grand Floridian Cafe quietly offers one of the best breakfast menus and a serene atmosphere on the property.
Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin Resort: Fuel is your perfect lobby stop with a full espresso bar, egg sandwiches, and a variety of packaged snacks ideal for munching while waiting for the Magic Kingdom bus.
Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort: Ravello offers an exceptional breakfast buffet and features character dining a few days a week. Enjoy quality time with Goofy, Mickey, and Minnie while indulging in a gourmet spread including charcuterie, house-made granola, and made-to-order eggs.
Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort: Recent renovations bring exciting updates to the quick-service menu. Try breakfast Cubans, coconut waffles, and chorizo tostones Benedict at Centertown Market or enjoy cream cheese-guava French toast and yucca hash at Spyglass Grille.
Disney’s Port Orleans Resort — French Quarter: Start your day with hearty breakfast po’ boys, indulgent baguette French toast, savory breakfast shrimp and grits bowls, and delicious beignets from the quick-service counters at Sassagoula Floatworks & Food Factory.
Disney’s Art of Animation: Renowned for offering the best quick-service dining among value-tier hotels, Landscape of Flavors serves a diverse range of breakfast options including sandwiches on naan bread, challah French toast, and vegan seitan scrambles.
