Things to do in Dubai if you're attending Expo 2020

Originally postponed due to the pandemic, Expo 2020 is now finally happening.

Starting on October 1 and running for six months, Dubai's World Expo is the first of its kind in the Middle East. Since the first World Expo in 1851, these events have allowed countries worldwide to showcase their latest innovations, and Dubai's Expo will be no exception. While the event may not attract the number of visitors initially expected before the pandemic, it will still draw a significant influx of tourists.

Dubai has been preparing for this moment for nearly a decade, with new hotels, improved infrastructure, and fresh attractions complementing the happenings at the Expo site in the southern part of the city.

Before you explore, international visitors must pass health screenings. As of now, all tourists arriving in Dubai must take a mandatory rapid PCR test on arrival and register their vaccination status through the COVID-19 DXB app. There are specific protocols for travelers from countries like Bangladesh, Ethiopia, India, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Uganda, Vietnam, and Zambia, as well as separate guidelines for those coming from the UK.
