This Innovative Flight Deals App Offers Business Class, Premium Economy, and Points Offers
Since 2015, Going (previously known as Scott’s Cheap Flights) has served as a trusted newsletter for savvy travelers hunting for the best flight bargains. From flash sales and significant price reductions to mistake fares with discounts reaching up to 90 percent, and sought-after mileage-saver award seats, this newsletter has kept approximately 2.4 million members updated on incredible values identified by its software and verified by a dedicated team of flight analysts.
Now, Going has finally rolled out an app—and it surpasses expectations. The app not only grants access to the same fantastic deals found in Going’s emails, but it’s also user-friendly and, crucially, offers push notifications. This means you’ll be alerted as soon as deals become available, which is a game-changer for anyone who has struggled to keep up with Going’s emails and only discovers amazing flash sales and mistake fares well after they’ve expired.
Here’s everything you need to know about Going and the new app, and why they are worth your attention.
Understanding What Going Is and How It Functions
High airfare and scarce availability for points and miles might make it seem like flight deals are non-existent, but there are plenty of options available. Rather than forcing travelers to search the internet for deals, Going takes on that responsibility for you.
As of summer 2024, the subscription-based service has expanded to over 2.4 million members and claims to save its users between 40% to 90% off flights from their home cities, averaging a savings of $550 on round-trip fares.
Going offers three membership tiers for both its newsletter and the new app. These start with the free Limited option (which notifies users about deals within the continental USA), the mid-tier Premium at $49/year (covering domestic and international economy deals), and the top-tier Elite at $199/year (which includes premium economy, business, and first-class offers).
Thanks to the app (available for free download), members at any tier can receive push notifications for deals and mistake fares as soon as they are identified by Going’s proprietary software and expert team.
Tailor your deals to fit your travel preferences

Going reveals numerous deals daily, and you don’t want to overwhelm your inbox or phone with constant alerts. Thus, it’s crucial to tailor what notifications you receive. This is where the app’s “My airports” feature comes into play, allowing you to select your home airport and any others you wish to track.
I specifically filter my alerts to focus on my home airport (Miami) and nearby Fort Lauderdale, along with a few other frequently used airports. I also limit my notifications to only include business and first-class alerts for international flights; business and premium economy for domestic flights; and mistake fares across all classes and airports (out of curiosity).
Members need to act quickly, so if you receive a notification or email, don’t hesitate, especially for mistake fares that disappear once the airline catches them, and for points deals that have limited availability.
Thanks to Going, I was able to secure a round-trip business-class ticket on Qatar Airways from Miami to Cape Town (with a layover in Doha) in a Q-Suite earlier this year. I redeemed just 140,000 miles through oneworld Alliance partner American Airlines for a ticket valued at over $7,000 at the time of booking. I shared this incredible deal with friends, and before we knew it, we were planning a group trip to Africa.
Other impressive features of the new Going app

In addition to notifications, we appreciate the Going app for its user-friendly interface and its ability to quickly pinpoint current flight options. Once logged in, you'll see a virtual globe that you can spin with a swipe and zoom in and out using a pinch gesture.
The app features a globe that visually represents all current deals originating from your home airport and any airports you follow. You'll notice small dots on various destinations worldwide where there are sales or offers, and you can zoom in for more details. Your customized globe displays deals across all classes from your selected airports, including those you've received through push notifications or emails.
You can access the same details in the “Where to?” section. By tapping on it, you can see how many deals are currently shown on the world map, and you can sort this information by price.
