Horizon Resort

Amazing, very clean, has an access to the beach and to a restaurant with a fire show, the staff is nice and very caring ! The little huts are so cute with a view on the sunrise and the beach !

I highly recommend this place for a relaxing stay on Koh Samed. It's at the south of the island so further from the busy part of the island, but easily accessible by motorcycle or the local trucks that can easily be hired through the staff. The staff make this place extra special. They're very warm and welcoming and do everything they can to make your stay comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised with the breakfast which had enough western and Thai options. All of it was tasty and the eating area by the beach is very pleasant. The beach and swimming area in front of the resort is small but still very nice. Also, the two nearest beaches are easily accessible by foot. They both have restaurants and places to drink and relax. There is some construction happening at the resort now and there was some noise, but it was very limited and didn't disturb us at all. I look forward to seeing it when the renovations are complete. I can't recommend this place enough. It can't be beat for this price on the island.

My best hotel stay ever!I highly recommend booking this if you want a romantic and private place to be while in Koh Samed!Horizon resort and Viking resort are under the same management so this review will serve as a review for both resorts.Let's start with the location. The resort is located at a really beautiful and quiet beach – Ao Thian. There are hardly any people around so you can enjoy swimming, exploring and scenery peacefully! There are few restaurants nearby that have a big menu of rather cheap food. This resort has its own restaurant too with a wide variety of foods and drinks to choose from. The morning buffet is amazing here too. If you plan to go to the city you should rent a bike or order a taxi. We mainly stayed at this resort because it is so peaceful compared to other ones.The rooms in both accommodations are really clean, smart and cozy. Especially Viking resort's smallest room that has TV placed in front of the bed! Every room had a big bed, perfect size for a couple. All of the rooms were decorated nicely making the stay more comfortable and less dull. All of the rooms had everything needed for a cozy and comfortable stay: clean towels, water, water boiler, fridge with freezer, soaps, private bathroom, warm shower, bidet, TV, cloth rack, outside terrace and tables. I think the Viking resort's smallest room looks the nicest with its tropical vibe. My second favorite was Horizon resort's bungalow that looks more old fashioned and authentic. Both of these room types are the most private given that they are slightly more far away from the beach. Viking resort has a more premium bigger room that looks more commercial. This bigger room is really wide and has a lot of space. The interior is clean and modern. This bigger room also has a wooden sofa and more tabletops than other room types. This bigger room is also equipped with a sea view if you are looking for that.Customer service here is really what blew me away and made me want to extend my stay here. Everyone here is so down to earth with a customer service mind all the time. The staff here treated us like family here. When my partner fell sick one of the managers (P'Tick) allowed me to bring breakfast to our accommodation for my partner. I even got helped to carry the food to the room by the staff. The managers were constantly asking how my partner was doing and one the managers (P'Thom) even gave her medicine. I got the same amazing treatment when I got hurt – they asked me how I was doing and they got me medicine from the city. I can really see that the resort is a passion project for the managers (P'Tick and P'Thom).I really don't have any complaints about this resort. The only thing you need to be careful about is your noise levels in your room. The rooms leak out noise outside and at Horizon resort to the next room within the same bungalow.I intended to stay here just two nights but decided to extend my stay and made it into seven nights. The staff and location made me do it. I felt so lucky when there were open rooms for us when we needed and wanted to extend the stay, because this resort is usually fully booked.TL;DR: Peaceful, romantic resort equipped with a beautiful beach, great food and wonderful, awesome staff!10/10!

Absolutely loved this place - so quiet, with well equipped and clean cabins, just metres from the sea. The staff were all really friendly and relaxed. Breakfast was great, a mix of continental and Thai, and eating it right next to the sea is even better. A shame the kitchej closed at 5pm so we couldn’t have dinner there as I’m sure it would be delicious. There is small Bay Area to swim, but if you want a larger beach, just walk 10 minutes along to the next bay. You will either need to pay for taxis or have mopeds to get around the island as the resort is 4/5km from the pier/ town area, but perfect for a relaxing few days.
