Great hosts! The dorm is very spacious and cleaned daily. Enough space to store your luggage or backpack. There are also lockers for your valuables and the key is provided. A balcony is always nice to have (with hammock)! Every bed has a privacy curtain, a power plug and a reading light. Mattress is comfortable.

Tharita is an amazing hostess! Our hostel mama cared for everyone, gave advice for activities and how to save money when you are on a tight budget. I met a lot of lovely people here and it was the best hostel stay on my thailand trip. Would definitely recommend and come back.

Came here to stay for a few days, the host is SO awesome!! We ate a few local Thai meals together and she made sure I was well taken care of - it feels homey. Everyone else is so nice, and very social but at night time everyone knows when to relax!! I met a bunch of new friends as well.The place is very clean (our hostess cleans the place 2-3x a day) and they have almost a full kitchen (besides a stove) in case you have food you bring :)It’s also the closest hostel to everything you need - Food, Wash/Fold Laundry next door, Multiple markets, and the BEACH is a 4 MINUTE WALK!!Definitely the best location out of the others I’ve stayed in Samui :)Will be back to stay here!! ❤️🙏

If I could rate this any higher I would. The location is great, the rooms have everything you need and the owner is so lovely (especially if you’re up for a chat).I stayed here 3 nights and wish I could’ve stayed more. It’s really close to the beach, lots of great food options, and a 7-eleven around the corner—as well as being close to the large shopping area and a main street if you’re into that.The place looks really nice and is well kept, with balconies to chill on and clean rooms and bathrooms. It didn’t take much to feel like home. There’s wall sockets and lights for all the beds, and you get a little locker too.It was a great place to experience the local culture, and Tharita (the owner) is really knowledgeable of the area and a great host. It seems like she really enjoys running it.I originally booked for two nights but extended to three because of how much I liked it. It’s got some of its own quirks, the value is great and so is the atmosphere, I would’ve stayed longer but I had already booked my ferry ride off the island.Hopefully you have as great a stay as I did.(I think Tharita is somehow still improving the place so I need to come back some time.)

The owner is amazing!! She will do everything she can to make DK1 feel like home.The rooms are very clean as are the toilet and showers. The beds are comfy and private with curtains and your own plug sockets.There is a little kitchenette for you to make tea or coffee as well as free drinking water provided

This is the best hostel I have ever stayed at and have been in and out of hostels for 3 months. The hostel owner, Tharita is an absolutely amazing person with a beautiful soul. She cares for her guests as if they were her own children. I met some really cool people at this hostel as well. Tharita made sure everyone felt included. As a solo traveler, I really appreciated that. She is genuine, cares for people, and you can tell she enjoys what she is doing.I could never thank her enough for the outstanding hospitality she provided me and the other guests.This hostel is a short 7 or so minute walk to Chaweng Beach and around lots of great food and restaurants (Delish for breakfast and the best coffee 👍🏽).The only bad thing I have to say is I found this gem too late in my travels but that's on me, not the property.Thank you Tharita for everything you have done, you are doing a great job!I will see you soon my beautiful sister!Much love,Your colorful. 🫰🏽

This is the best hostel I’ve ever stayed in, it was comfy, clean and Tharita (the owner) made it feel like home.It opened in March and the record length stay is 59 days. Just shows how nice it is.I stayed here for 10 days to do a Muay Thai course, Tharita also recommended gym to me.

The owner Tharita (we called her Mama) is awesome, she was in every detail, smiling all the time and she was kinda one of us with the people in the room. She is lovely and the vibes of the hostel honestly reminded me of the times when I visited my grandma's house in my childhood. Room and beds were good, same with the toilet and showers. Whatever you need, Mama helps.

DK1 is by far the best hostel I've ever stayed in! During my 25-day stay, Tharita, the owner, made all the difference with her heartfelt hospitality that made me feel at home every single day. The atmosphere is amazing. The hostel is near local restaurants, you can walk 5 minutes to the beach and it's a 20 minutes from the bars and clubs. It's the perfect spot to make connections for life.

Tharita the owner is the best in Thailand ! She looks after you and help you with everything, bookings, bike hiring from a good place, etc. Also questions about other areas and trips. The place is clean cuz she is looking after it. I just would like a bit more Aircon or starting earlier than 6pm as it was really hot during my stay and there are not many places around with Ac to work on my laptop (just starbucks 3 tables). Overall has been great !

Best hostel I’ve stayed in my SEA trip. No words to describe how comfortable I felt here, mainly because of Tharita, the best host in Thailand! She makes everyone feel at home and takes care of every guest, like a mother. The location is amazing, next to Chaweng Beach.I ended up extending my stay here.

Recently stayed at this hostel and had an amazing experience! Everyone there was so friendly and welcoming. The owner(DK mama as we called her), she was so caring,helpful and super funny at the same time, literally made me feel like I was home while staying there.And the location was fantastic as well, a few minutes walk to Chawang beach and with 7-11 and many street vendors nearby, easily one of the best hostels I’ve stayed in Thailand !If you ever decide to visit Koh Samui, highly recommend staying at this hotel!DK1’s the best!

My Name is Nao. Such a friendly hostel. “DK” is taken from the owner's daughter name. If you are traveling solo, highly recommend. Other guests are so nice as well. A very fun hostel. I'm glad I stayed!
