New Hut

Since I never know exactly where I'll end up the next day when I'm backpacking, I usually book my accommodation at very short notice (sometimes only half an hour - hour before arrival).So after my arrival in Koh Samui I looked where there was good, inexpensive accommodation and came across the New Hut Bugalows. With a price of around €12 (I targeted 664 Baht), the night is definitely affordable for every man and woman. A bungalow with a view of the beach in the first row, like the one I had (it cost 50 baht extra) is really highly recommended given the view that awaits you.The bungalow is really just the bungalow with two mattresses on the floor, light and electricity. Toilets and showers are shared. These were clean, functional and available in sufficient numbers. Unfortunately, you won't find air conditioning, the bungalow only has a fan on the ceiling. If you are particularly sensitive to heat or simply don't want to do without air conditioning, there is also a bungalow in the second or third row at a higher cost, which means you don't have this wonderful view. But even so, you can only survive the night/nights with a fan.The staff seemed a bit shady at first but then turned out to be quite nice and friendly. On the day of departure, if you are not in a hurry, you should decline the offer to call a taxi as the price seems significantly overpriced.There is a bar/restaurant on the property itself where you can eat something during the day or in the evening and reflect on the day with a drink or two. Otherwise, there are also many opportunities to go out for something to eat or drink in the immediate vicinity.Since the accommodation is located at the foothills of Lamai Beach, the center can be reached quickly via a walk on the beach in 10-15 minutes.

Great place

I stayed in a small bungalow. For a small extra charge I got one right by the sea. It was definitely worth it! Very nice view! And jump into the sea in the morning :)There are only 2 mattresses and a ceiling fan in the bungalow. So not much space, more like camping in a wooden cabin. I thought it was very nice. The sea breeze makes it okay with the heat, but I still didn't sleep too well without air conditioning.The staff tries very hard to keep everything clean, and the beach is also cleaned regularly. However, things are constantly washing up and the sea wasn't very clean when I was there.

The main advantage of this accommodation is the price x quality ratio. Right on the beach, close to town, cheapest beach restaurant, great drinks. Possibility of a cottage with a private bathroom. View directly to the beach from the toilet. The houses are really tiny. There is no closet, nothing to put things. We were very satisfied. We spent the whole day outside anyway and only went to sleep. Shared toilets, showers as clean as in a 5* hotel. You won't get a welcome drink, but everything goes according to the agreement, without any problems. Beach cleaned every morning.

Only had food and drinks here, it was really good. We had Thai green curry and a chicken fried rice. The food is reasonably priced. Staff are always around to help. The location is perfect, right on the beach away from traffic noise. The day we were there, there was a heavy rain storm, so it was a bit grey & the sea crashed right up into the restaurant, its that close.

This is the WORST place I’ve stayed in so far in my three months of travel. The room and bathroom had cockroaches, the bed was uncomfortable, there’s no sheets for the duvet, no WiFi in the room and you have no space to put your bags, but I guess that’s what you’re paying for. This all would have been fine if it wasn’t for the owner. She is a horrible, greedy, jealous lady who clearly thinks it’s okay to treat guest terribly because, in her own words, she is very rich. She said that we must be poor because we’re staying at her hotel. She swears at guests and as we were leaving she was making gagging sounds and starting yelling “I’m sick, I’m sick.”Horrible experience, would not recommend.

It was so laudy . Fan working but not swinging .Bathroom was dirty and water was cold .Woman in Reception who looks like kind of Jabba The Hut was so rude .Probably Place name taken from The Hut family like Star Wars . You probably understand what I mean .Place It is in the beach but not possible to swim. Sea was dirty and full of rock.On booking com it writes 10.30 to 11.00 am for checkout but on reception it writes 10 am . So you need to talk before you check out if you want to check out according to Booking com.On our second day stuff makes us wake up early . They thought so we are about to check out but it was one day later . We even didn't ask for to knock our door.You can find more budget friendly place very next to right of this place .Good for backpackers .

We lived here for three days. A woman from the bazaar works at the reception desk. Rude and impudent. We booked a house on the first line with a sea view using the app. But upon arrival, the admin said that we need to pay extra for the view or we will be accommodated on the second line. It's unbearably hot in the houses. There is only a fan and it will only blow on one bed. Those. Delicious food, amazing location by the beach, plenty of chais- longues. Staff friendly, food not very expensive. I loved it.
