Our stay at Baan Bida was very relaxing. We booked a month’s stay through AirBNB at a very competitive price. We would describe it as more of a boutique guesthouse than a hotel. It is very homely and set in a non-touristy Thai neighbourhood with a number of good eateries within easy walking distance. There is also a 711 and Lotus supermarket (ATM outside) within close proximity. The owner, Urawan, is very amiable and helpful. She went out of her way to ensure our stay was enjoyable. Our room was quite modern, the décor can be described as “industrial” with grey concrete floor, walls, and exposed pipes. The bed was firm but super comfortable for a good nights sleep. Power points were only available on one side of the bed. Typical Thai style wet bathroom with shower hose and the pressure was good and water hot. The TV is very small, with mainly Thai channels. The fridge is a very good size, bigger than you would get in most hotels. A kettle is provided but no cups but they provided some after asking. As we were staying so long, we supplied our own tea, coffee, milk and water which we preferred. There is a little work station under the TV where you can set up a work station, laptop etc but no chair or stool so you will need to bring in a chair from the back patio. WIFI was ok, it did drop out on occasion but overall, I would describe it as satisfactory. Aircon in the room was great, temperature always as per setting and it was quiet. We enjoyed sitting out on the patio in the evening where we quite often enjoyed a meal ordered and delivered via Grab. There are laundry facilities on the main road, maybe a 250-metre walk where you can get laundry done for around 65 baht/kg. Baan Bida itself is approximately a 1.5km walk to Krabi Riverfront and town centre. If you stay here, we recommend you have a motorbike or car if you really want to get out and explore, motorbike rental can be arranged with the owner. We were able to take a leisurely walk into town in around 20 to 25 minutes. Grab cabs are available in the area and will cost around 90-baht one way. Ao Nang beach is around 15kms away and you can either take a cab at around 200-300 baht one way or one of the white songthaews for 50 baht one way (the red songthaews do the Krabi Town circuit). At the Krabi riverside (Riverside Bar and Restaurant is a must visit if you love seafood) you can locate boats that go to Phi Phi Island; timetable showing 1030am and 230pm but it may differ in the low season so double check. Longtail boats are readily available on the river and for 300 baht you can secure a return trip to Koh Klang, a small island, where you can dine at one of the riverside seafood restaurants. Trips can also be negotiated with the longtail boat skippers to take you on tours around the river to see such sights as the limestone caves, mangroves etc. We booked a 3-hour excursion for 700 baht. A must visit is the Krabi Town night market where you can enjoy a variety of Thai foods at very reasonable prices. There are even 2 or 3 bars there where you can enjoy a cocktail or beer and sit and enjoy the live music. Overall we can thoroughly recommend Bann Bida and we look forward to staying again in the future.

Amazing stay at Baan Bida ! I stayed 2 nights and I really enjoyed it ! Urawan is extremely kind and helpful, smiling everytime. Room was clean, and bed very comfortable. The hotel is located 15 min walking from the center of Krabi Town. Everything was perfect I will come back for sure ! Thank you very much !
