Overall, we really liked and enjoyed this place but it took a few days to realize it's charm, despite a few negatives. The resort is very remote and it can be challenging to get there, if the tide is low. You will need to communicate with the front desk the day before your arrival. It's a beautiful resort, nice grounds, very nice decorations, beautiful wood furniture everywhere, hammocks, lounge chairs, fairly new and well taken care off.The pool is super clean and has nice wood floors around and lounge chairs. The rooms and public areas are spotless clean. They clean your room everyday day. The staff is very attentive and nice. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and clean. Bed is on the firm side (at least for me). Bathroom is big. If you need extra pillows, blankets, ice, they will get it for you. It's very quite, peaceful, next to a sense forest so you'll hear some unbelievable bird sounds and other critters. There's tons of interesting wild life around. The breakfast is mediocre, in our opinion but they did have some nice dishes at times. Their restaurant food is decent and overpriced but we're foodies and picky, and had incredible food in Chiang Mai, Railay, and Koh Jum, so we have high standards. There's a tiny food shack next door (Tour) that has really good food. You're stuck there because it's the only resort and you can't leave unless you're on a boat, but if there's a low tide you can't go anywhere. You can kayak (free), they have snorkel equipment and nice snorkeling on both sides of the resort (but the equipment cheap so you may want to bring your own), the pool and that's pretty much it. You can hike to the other side of the island, where there's more action, but it's a bit strenuous hike and you will need to be in good shape. There are Komodo dragons along the way, scavaging on a pile of trash because that's how some people on the island (locals? Tourists?) dispose of it. But not this resort. There's no WiFi in the rooms, which was kind of annoying for us, but if you're willing to disconnect, have peace and quiet except for the animals, and relax, this the place to do it.There are big jellyfishes, huge sea urchins, and sting rays, and people have gotten hurt. Not while we where there, but on the other side of the island. I saw photos that the emergency response team showed me, which brings me to my next point.I had to be hospitalized, due to severe hip pain that had been lingering. There are no clinics or hospitals on this island, but I had contacted a clinic in Koh Lanta prior to arriving here (Lanta International Clinic) and they told me they would have to send an emergency nurse to assess the situation. They came and said I needed more medical treatment and needed to be transported to the nearest hospital, which is 30 mins on a speedboat plus one hour ambulance ride. It was not cheap, so I strongly suggest you purchase travel insurance. Not trying to be an alarmist just letting you know the deal. After arriving from the hospital we really enjoyed our stay.
