We stayed at Sammys Homestay for 6 nights. And our stay there was great. The rooms are simple but they have everything you need. The whole facility is very clean and the host family is extremely friendly and accommodating.The only “shortcoming” we noticed was that an unpleasant smell came from the toilet every now and then.You can rent scooters directly from Sammy without any problems for around 70,000 IDR per day. Breakfast would even be included in the price. However, we always went for breakfast in the “soirée” right next door. This is more expensive and “exclusive” than others but it is definitely worth the price!What is also an advantage if you want to do sports is that there is a gym called “XENO” right next to the homestay.Another advantage is that you can get to Kuta itself in less than 5 minutes by scooter.

The photos do not resemble reality. The facilities are very neglected, the room smells very damp, the beds are not comfortable and the cleanliness is questionable. The rooms are expensive for the actual services it offers. The pool is green, it is not suitable for swimming, when I kindly mentioned it to the owner (Sammy) he reacted in an aggressive and threatening manner. Despite maintaining a conciliatory tone with him and trying to end the conversation well, Sammy seemed very challenging and threatening. Furthermore, every night he started drinking beer drunk at the hostel reception...The first person I have met like this in Indonesia, be very careful with Sammy, it is not recommended to stay here!!

Quite an unwelcoming place! The rooms are very expensive for the quality of the service offered: old, poorly maintained room, very average cleanliness, lots of insects, very reliable insulation (you can hear the neighbors' shower and toilets). Concerning the exterior green swimming pool and rather dilapidated garden.And you are far from the city center.To flee!

This place is the best I’ve been on my whole journey.Felt very welcome especially because I’ve experienced an accident and needed more support as a usual guest.The owner couple is extremely helpful and super caring, the rooms are very clean and well equipped. You get all furniture you could need like chairs and a table, clothes rail as well as a fridge.The outside bathroom is covered by a net which keeps insects out off your the room. The bed is comfortable and the additional mosquito net above it makes the room very cozy and is also useable if you don’t like the AC as I do.The terrace is a great place to chill as well.Haven’t been to the pool but it looked super inviting.Don’t miss out the breakfast which is delicious.All in one a 10/10 experience.Thank you for having me and wish you all the best 😊💐

The rooms smell a little moldy, the mosquito nets are new - but have two openings so they can still enter the net unless you are a net arrangement professional. The pool needs much cleaning and renovation - it’s really small.Worst part for me were the poor birds in the small cages and i think they shouldn’t have hunted birds in cages.

I stayed at the homestay for almost 3 weeks and the family is very lovely.Unfortunately I had a very serious situation yesterday where I found a cell phone filming while I was taking a shower. The cell phone was in the next room. I immediately put on my towel and went to reception, called Sammy and showed him what was happening... He said that someone “forgot” their phone there. Which is obviously a lie. I went out to dinner and when I came back he was talking and smoking with the man who allegedly placed the camera. When we do not take action in a serious situation it is because we agree with the situation and not taking action in the midst of absurdity like this is INADMISSIBLE. I'm sorry but I don't recommend this place!

Tidy little homestay. Sammy and the staff were very helpful. Basic but had everything neededThe dorm room had two mini ensuites. No hot water though. A/C was welcome and WiFi was alright. The free breakfast was banana pancake and coffee. Well priced and located close enough to the town centre. There were a few rude dogs in the alley at night on my walk in, so be careful.
