Very beautiful and quiet island, we loved all diving sites here, not crowded at all! You will not see divers storm! You can see baby guitar sharks while walking on the beach 🏖️ scuba junkie staffs are friendly, nice and helpful, we will be back for sure.

Scuba Junkie Sangalaki is absolutely worth the travel! It's a bit of a journey to get there, but once you arrive, you're greeted with an incredibly peaceful and serene island life. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and truly passionate about protecting the marine life. They made sure we experienced so much of the incredible underwater world, from different sharks to turtles and vibrant coral reefs. I loved how respectful they were towards the environment, ensuring that each dive was both safe and eco-conscious. The island itself has a charming, laid-back vibe with a few cozy restaurants and not too many tourists, which made it even more special. If you're looking for a quiet escape with some of the best sea life around, this is the place to be!

The dive resort manager is really trying his best, however he needs a bit of support. The dive masters/ guides do their best to ensure all of the divers are comfortable and catered for any special requirements or nervousness (this was the highlight of our stay).The island is a fair travel, also with airlines fairly unreliable to get to and from Berau - if we were to do it again we would probably rather spend the time in a better resort and also destination. On the island the dive spots are 30mins to 1hr from the island.The island is fairly basic in terms of restaurants and items available. Most restaurants serving very similar dishes.For breakfast there is an allocation of only 2 eggs (we ended up bringing our own eggs to breakfast)The rooms don’t get serviced autonomously over the 5-6day stay unless request for bins to get empty etc.Just be careful with purchasing the packages from scuba junkies as there is a no-refund policy no matter what (whether instead working with an alternative dive resort that is more local, has the full team on-site that enables a quick response and way communication and offers some flexibility - would be up to individual preferences - however recommended). Note - it might sound like it in the email but Ash and the email team are not on-site, we found things to be over-sold, compared to actual conditions.
