Wikan House

It is a magnificent, very authentic guest house with wonderful people who make you feel at home with delicious little dishes (the best crispy chicken I have eaten in my life) who make you discover the real Bali with visits to hidden places (eg a living museum of Balinese traditions, a beekeeper and other local visits). Putra and Radna are adorable, they really make you feel like part of their family, Radna took us to see a real local market and she helped us discover lots of good local products. 🥰We really recommend it if you are near Amed or the Tirta Gangga temple 🙏🤩

Hello, I was unable to leave a review on AirBnb and I am sorry. An exceptional host, kind, helpful and sincere. Our best experience of the stay. One of the best meals prepared by locals. Large and spacious room. Everything was very clean. I recommend the outing with the guide Putru (the host) who accompanied us during our various visits. Thank you for his kindness and availability. If you go to Bali, stop at least 2 nights with them. An essential address

If you want to discover the true spirit of Bali, come to this house... so many things I learned from Putra and Ratna! There are no tourists here and I was immersed among the people of this small town. Putra explained to me how his community, the rice field, works, he taught me to recognize plants, he showed me paths, farmers, beekeepers.... he explained to me in concrete terms the Hindu religion and how it is lived by families. Ratna pampered me with her delicious food, involved me in her activities with the children (they organize various traditional activities that they let tourists experience), explained to me how family life works and what her dreams are. In short, I felt at home here.... The agricultural region is waiting to be discovered, with beautiful views of both the volcanoes and the sea. Forget the noise and smog of Ubud or Sanur, here I discovered the Bali of "once upon a time", the authentic one.(And Putra made me laugh a lot.... thanks also to her smiling parents and the two children who liven up the house).

My stay at the Wikan House was the most authentic, instructive and humanly intense moment of my long journey on the Island of the Gods.The Wikan House is not a simple accommodation, it is first and foremost a cultural experience.In addition to making me feel part of the family, Putra and his wife Ratna explained to me with passion and in perfect English an infinite number of things about Bali, its people, the rituals, life in the villages, work in the rice fields. Putra, who is a trekking guide, accompanied me on a scooter to the village of Tengannan, in Tirta Ganga, Amed... and then to walk among the rice fields and the forest, showing me its plants and fruits and promptly answering my every curiosity .Another thing that I loved immensely is the wonderful natural context in which their village is immersed, in the heart of the island and far from tourism. A breath of fresh air after the days in Ubud and a dive into the daily reality of the Balinese.As for hospitality, the single room in which I slept was simple as was the bathroom which is located just outside the room and is for exclusive use. A particular note of merit goes to the cleanliness of the room and the comfort of the mattress and pillows. Not to mention the food Ratna and Putra prepared for me for dinner, tasty and delicate.The tours they offer are all interesting, from the beautiful trekking between rice fields and villages to the more traditional places, always under the careful guidance of Putra. After that they are available to organize any other activity you may wish for.For those who are curious, empathetic and want to understand how life flows in Bali, Wikan House is an unmissable stop.

I'm very grateful that I could experience the real Balinese life at Wikan house. It is a rare opportunity to spend time with traditional local people who speaks english well. Putra, Ratna and their lovely family were extremely kind with me. They are also amazing cooks. I highly recommend it for travellers who want to stay in an authentic, honest place.

Wikan House is amazing! First of all, the moment I was led to my room, I was stunned by the exterior decorations of the room, and every time I walk back from the toilet, I feel like I live in a temple and that's really a nice and special experience for me. Putra and Ratna is super friendly and helpful, they can share with you everything you want to know about Bali, and also there are quite a lot nice places to visit in that area, ex. Samsara living museum, Puri Agung Karangasem, Virgin beach, etc. and they can arrange the trip for you as you want. What I'm still craving for is the chicken Koloke I had for the dinner, it's super tasty and it's the best meal for me during my 3-week visit in Bali!I had a really great time there and I feel so lucky to have this chance to stay there!

Wikan House is an amazing place to stay. The host Family is extremely helpful and kind. They also have delicious balinese food there. We had a great time at this place and the room was beautiful.

Just one word: PERFECT! Ratna and her husband are adorable! They make you feel like family! They bend over backwards to make your stay pleasant and comfortable, they are truly fabulous people who I already miss 😭😍
