It's been 3 years since we visited the Dieng plateau, and many new constructions are sprouting like mushrooms, in the style of Alpine wooden refuges, traditional or contemporary. Royal cabin Dieng has 7 or 8 chalets with pointy roofs. Totally fabricated in wood (looks like mahogany or mango, I could not tell), not very high quality construction, but it does the job : ita ok to spend a few nights. Beds are comfortable, there is no aircon nor heaters, it's functional and simple. Tv works, there is a small kitchen corner with a gas stove, a kettle, a sink, a water fountain, perfect to make noodles or hot drinks.Our home for the night has 2 levels.Best part of this place? Good location, with a nice view on Prau mountain.There were no towels, no soap, very little dishwashing liquid, but that was ok since we just spent a night and had our own towel. For 1 jt per night, i feel they could do better with amenities.We left at 2am to climb Prau, came back around 9 to clean up, take a shower, it was a nice little outing.

Needs lots of maintenance, doors not closing gaps to let cold wind in at night. bathroom old rotten Shelfing same in kitchen, mice inside rubbish bin, wifi cut out all the time, street light shining in bedroom no curtains.noicy next to road. would not stay there again .

very strategic location close to many tourist attractions of craters and lakes, quite close to the hawker center, the view from the room window is very beautiful, but unfortunately the structure is still very lacking (there is no wall insulation, so bring jackets, socks etc. in the room), night During the day, the wind can enter the room easily (from between the wood) accompanied by the sound of the wind hitting the cabin building, it feels very loud (like a flying car) so it's a bit nervous at night, the hot water is also difficult to get out, so to shower you have to boil the water, Other facilities such as blankets, water stove, cooking utensils are okay.
