We loved it here and wish we could have stayed longer to go on more forest hikes. We stayed 2 nights.Nature Reserve: It's a beautiful, well preserved park full of life and sounds. The main trails are in good condition. Iwan was our homestay host but he was also a great, welcoming and accommodating guide; he knows the land well, having lived and worked in/near Tangkoko his whole life, including having some years of primate research. He is knowledgeable about the identification of wildlife present including insects, primates, birds and plants, as well as being informative about unique behaviors of certain wildlife. He is an asset- make sure to ask him any questions you have about the area! He will also cater to your particular nature interests. We saw the endemic crested black macaques, bear cuscus, green-backed kingfisher, tarsiers, various butterfly and insect species (and a tarantula!), bats, etc... Worth staying longer to increase your chance of seeing other native animals. We wish we could have seen hornbills and other kingfisher species, for example.Room: AC works well, room is spacious and clean, the beds are comfty and the furniture is useful not just decorative. Bathroom is a "wet" bathroom, but very spacious with shower, sink, and toiletries. The food is delicious. Iwan's wife and the other staff accommodated well with vegan meals for us.Also the homestay is simply in a gorgeous spot!
