Flow Gili Air

An unforgettable and sensational stay in Julie's house for our two children and us. A haven of peace, a lush garden, comfortable bedding, attentive staff for breakfasts or to enjoy the hammam, a pleasant swimming pool, the opportunity to sleep under the stars in the garden in perfect bedding... Everything these details and many more allowed us to fully enjoy our stay at Gili Air. We wholeheartedly wish to come back to stay with Julie and recommend this accommodation to all those who aspire to recharge their batteries!

Amazing experience, hamman and ice bath

Nice villas close to the beach, with beautiful gardens taken care of by very kind staff. Had the breakfast there and it was all very tasty!

We didn't like our stay at Flow Gili Air that much. First of all, I found the exchanges before arriving very succinct and sometimes even without a response, unlike all the other hotels we visited in Indonesia where the owners were always very gracious and helpful even before our arrival. When we arrived, the owners' mother greeted us rather coldly, telling us "the children can make noise, but not before 9 a.m.", all in front of our 2 and 4 year olds. Atmosphere ! I'm not talking about the Indonesian staff who are very warm as always. Then, we deplored the total absence of the owners, we saw no one, no one came to greet us or explain to us how the place worked, the breakfasts, the hammam, etc. Instead there was a book in the room of several pages to read to find out what there was to know. Suffice to say that we don't want to read that at all and that we much prefer human contact and a real visit to the place. Furthermore, we found the swimming pool very unwelcoming, located in a corner, in a somewhat fallow garden, without deckchairs, in short not at all a place to relax. We were only there once on the last day because the other days the owners' mother was swimming there with her friend so we had the impression of being at their house and that we didn't have our place. It didn't feel like we were on vacation at all. Another point and not the most pleasant, I was bitten several times after a nap or a night, up to 10 pimples in a row in various places on the body: this strongly resembles bedbug bites. Finally, as we were leaving the premises, no one came to greet us or offer help, even to call a taxi. It was the same on the way out otherwise. All the other hotels in Indonesia have always kindly taken care of this for us and we paid much less per night there. We expected much better by paying this price, we were extremely disappointed, and we can clearly see that the places are not at all managed by Indonesians, who really have a sense of welcome.

Beautiful cozy and quiet place - I came for the Hamam and icebath and had a small chat with the owner and his mother- both very friendly people!Sadly I was running out of time and couldn't try the food, but the tea was delicious hehe. They really care about healthy food and use nearly everything out of their permaculture garden.Totally recommended!

By far the best place I have stayed in Indonesia.

We visited flow for the hammam and ice bath. It was amazing! The staff and owner are super friendly. The owner even arranged a babysitter for us last minute, which enabled my husband and I to enjoy the hammam together. 10/10!

The Hamam was so good! and not to forget the ice bath which was also great. We came here with our baby and the owner arranged a babysitter for us right away! What a great service. The owner also takes care of his mother here, what an inspiring story. We will definitely come back here!

We had a wonderful, peaceful stay there while still being close to everything. The beds are ultra comfortable and the hosts provide very good advice. Very pleasant swimming pool and magnificent hammam that we had the chance to experience to the rhythm of Indonesian songs. For the more adventurous, there is also an ice bath ;). Eco-responsible place ranging from a kitchen offering delicious dishes made with products from their garden to shower products which are nature friendly. Thank you all for this bubble of happiness :)
