The rooms are quite spacious and clean. The bathroom is clean and the hot water is smooth. The location of the rooms goes down into the valley, down to the edge of the lake. Quite challenging physical activity to go up and down. However, it pays off with beautiful views and a comfortable atmosphere.

We didn't stay at Vandu's View but we visited on numerous occasions. Willmen and the team are a great bunch of guy's. We turned up hoping to check in as we had seen the previous evening that rooms were available & we didn't book as everywhere seemed so quiet but they had a booking of 5 rooms that morning. Willmen helped us find accommodation nearby. They show premiere league football and the food is lovely also a great location.Thank you for all your help. Definitely recommend

Rooms on top very quiet and nice views on the lake. Nice to sit on terrace and relax. Large rooms, clean but I was in room 103 there was a smell in the bathroom after showering. You can easily solve this by putting a bag filled with water over the drain. Hotel is located near some good restaurants such as Today's Cafe. Very friendly staff and a correct price quality ratio. Receptionist speaks good English. Also very good breakfast with a lot of choices; try pancake with tropical fruits and honey.

Wonderful place to stay. I was first in room 102, then 103. Both rooms were immaculately kept and spotlessly clean. They were also very spacious. Each had a table and chairs, flat screen TV, and kettle and mugs. The beds were big and very comfortable. The wifi was very good. Outside, each had a large terrace with another table and chairs and breathtaking views over a gulf of Lake Toba. A decent breakfast was included. Free water is available throughout the day. The resort has its own restaurant / bar area complete with a huge screen used mainly to show live football. I’m quite a keen football fan but due to the late times they were shown, I never watched any matches. However, I understand the events were well attended, had a good atmosphere and well-enjoyed. I should add that I am a light sleeper yet I was never troubled by any noise on such nights. Indeed, one of the joys of Vandu’s View was the relaxed vibe and general peace and quiet. I spent a lot of time simply sitting on the terrace and enjoying the view of the lake with its occasional ferry traffic. It was a joy. I found all of the staff at Vandu’s View to be friendly and helpful but especially the two brothers who manage the place. Put simply, they are among life’s good guys. By the time I left, I felt they were friends. Finally, I should mention that my intial stay was for only for a few days but I liked the place so much I ended up staying almost two weeks. Even then, I wanted to stay longer but could not do so because all rooms had been previously booked. When I moved out to another place on the other side of the village, the brothers arranged a free lift for me and my luggage to get there.Very highly recommended indeed!(If any staff should read this, you knew me as John or, more usually, Mister John!)

Good hospitality is not a about the things you did but about the things you didnt. It is about the whole experience.Person working at the reception organised transport to the ferry. The next day there was noone waiting for us at 5.30 in the morning. We had to wake up the same receptionist, he didnt care about our transport. We were informed that our driver overslept... that was it... that was the answer... he overslept but he is sorry... he woke the driver up, so he could just a put a tshirt on and drive us there but instead he decided to stay in bed and he just didnt give a sh.This is a small village, everything is closed at 5.30, you cant just take another taxi. He said, he tried to find the solution, he wasnt in rush, he just walk around "thinking". He said, that he was sorry, well... "sorry" doesn't pay for a new flight. If you are leaving early in the morning they can prepare a breakfast for take away, we asked for it the day before but they forgot...Lake is beautiful and there is a kayak available. Unfortunately we were told about the kayak in the afternoon day before our flight... we could used it a few times, paid for it, but we didn't know about it.

The ferry drop-off is done directly at their pier.Spacious and clean room.Very pretty view of the lake. The breakfasts are really good and the guys who manage this hotel will help you with everything: the scooters will be in front of the hotel, ditto the jetski, direct to the hotel.Lots of restaurants around.A very very good deal on tuk tuk.

Vandu’s View Guesthouse at Lake Toba offers good Wi-Fi, a good location with many restaurants nearby, and the ferry stops directly at the hotel. The breakfast selection is good. …
