Palulu Garden Homestay

We were greeted very kindly upon our arrival by Cornelius and his wife with delicious banana fritters. Our room was clean and air conditioned, the location is perfect. They were very helpful to us.

The owners are very welcoming and always smiling. They offered to take our luggage by scooter for free. There is a very nice view from the common room. It's definitely not a new place but the rooms are very clean, the air conditioning works well and the bed is comfortable. The banana pancake lunch is included, so it's great value!

Very very lovely family! We felt so welcome right from the start. They brought us bananas from their beautiful garden and made us a delicious breakfast with loads of fresh herbs! The sunset view is also amazing!

My visit to Palulu Garden Homestay in Labuan Bajo exceeded all expectations. As someone who has been traveling across Indonesia for years, I look for places that combine simplicity with authenticity. The rooms at Palulu, although modest, offer everything you need: a kitchenette, bathroom, cleanliness, and mosquito nets for a peaceful sleep. It’s worth noting that during my stay, the mattresses were replaced with new ones, showcasing their attention to guests’ comfort.However, the real treasure of this place is its service. Managed by a multi-generational family business, I felt at home from the moment I arrived. Rosa, in particular, with her heart and care, turned my planned two-night stay into eight. Her empathy and support were invaluable to me.The breakfasts at Palulu are exceptional—from banana pancakes made with fruit from their own garden, to a soup specially prepared for me, and vegetarian Tempe. Rosa’s cuisine, based on healthy and natural ingredients, deserves special recognition. Her dream of opening her own restaurant would surely find many supporters.The location of the hostel is perfect: close to the airport and city center, access to an excellent seafood restaurant and bars, as well as the option to rent a scooter at a reasonable price. It’s also worth mentioning the sense of security provided by the owners, even in simple gestures like reminding to lock the doors.Regarding the negative reviews about the hostel—they seem inadequate. For the price of 160,000 IDR, you can’t expect luxuries, but Palulu offers something much more valuable: a homely atmosphere, safety, and warmth. This is a place I will definitely return to, not just for the amenities but for the company of Dungo and Charlie too.

Very unsafe, when I got up in the morning, my wallet was on the floor and all the cash had been stolen.There are a lot of mosquitoes in the house and the toilet smells bad.

A man tried to come into my room at 3:45 am. He had the keys. When I spoke to the owner he said I had no proof...

Really enjoyed our stay here, fantastic location which amazing views. The hosts are very helpful and make banana pancakes each morning for free, even making them very early at 5am when we had a Komodo tour.

We arrived here very early and were still able to get into the room at 11 a.m., a big plus! As a welcome we received free tea and home-baked rolls. The room itself is spartan but has air conditioning. Unfortunately there was no toilet paper so you had to water yourself. But that was ok for just one night. :D

We stayed here 1 Week in an A/C room. We had a great time here. The family is so nice and you have a great view to the bay of labuan badjo while having your banana pancakes with coffee or tea. An authentic homestay for a fair price :)

We booked the accommodation twice and were very satisfied. The rooms are very simple and there are a few problems in the corners, but you have everything you need. We would definitely book again! The rooms have mosquito nets and breakfast was included. There is coffee and delicious banana pancakes for breakfast. We received a very warm welcome and, if necessary, a cheap taxi to the airport was organized. Best regards!
