An eco-hotel unique in style with small wooden houses perched on the hill, overlooking the whole bay of Labuan Bajo. It has easily the best view and the best sunset you can see. All the rooms have an amazing view and it has a natural look and feel. Keep in mind that because this is an eco-hotel on the hill it is not like usual hotels with the usual facilities. Ideal for nature lovers. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Hotel with spectacular viewsTasteful decorBut one of the most important parts of the hotel is the very very poor cleanliness: I lay down on the bed and it had an unpleasant smell, I removed the pillowcase and the pillow was yellow with stainsFurthermore, the bathroom had not been cleaned and the water did not workI asked to have the sheets changed and it was done but I would expect to find it already clean given that the price is not low.A little more care in cleaning and it could be truly excellent

I enjoyed the view from my room. It is located a bit off the main path but it's fine. Probably was a bit too expensive.

A few things before I get started. 1. It’s literally on a hillside so if you have trouble walking don’t book. I truly mean that. 2. Bringing luggage? 🧳 figure out how to bring it up because it will be a pain to do. it a LONG walk up to reception. 3. Understand it’s a hillside cottage and every thing is built with wood…Now for the review .Room : ok, everyone was as expected RUSTIC. The bathroom however can use some improvements. The sink seemingly goes all over the floor. Poor drainage during showers.,so wear shower shoes. I did have a problem with the bhudda statue looking at me while sleeping. And the the one in the shower, toilet sink area. Don’t expect any amenities COME PREPARED. This is not the Hyatt or Sheraton. Doors are locked with wood blocks from the inside.,outside is a padlock. Don’t expect any bit of privacy. The sheers over the windows won’t block nothing. So if you plan on parading around in your birthday suit just be advised., note: you will shower outside with bamboo fending and black mesh over your head in a very rustic fashion.Location: beautiful and the patio/lanai is just as nice. Getting up to Selina on the hill you need hiking shoes….if not in shape you will be by the time you leave.Restaurant: limited menu. Greek souvlaki (60k) was awesome. The nasi goreng was good as well. Limited tho so don’t expect a large menu. Breakfast is a small omelette and a small bowl of fruit and a toasted bread cut into four with strawberry jam on the side. Nothing spectacular. That was IDR 50 my coffee was IDR 25.Pool: small kidney shaped. Overlooking a nice view. I didn’t go into it.,Staff: friendly although the first day no one was around my taxi driver had to go uo and look around to find them. I recommend having a sign that says where reception is.,would help.Transport.:,rent a motorbike once you arrive.,also find yourself a “taxi” driver for the time you are there.,motorbike can take you up near the top. A car will not..Rating: I rated this a 3 because I think they really need to make the point clear the “trekking” involved to get to the reception (and your room!)When I arrived the staff seemed lost. No one spoke English. Until later on when I met the owner the next day. a little more transparency would be nice about the rooms..may want to provide guests at least two bottle of water and may want to tell people about the loud muslim call to prayer everyday (starting at 0445!!). Lastly you may want to do some slight renovations.

Not a great experience but here’s my objective reviewPros:- considerably affordable accommodation- near the harbour to catch boats- good views from the room- marylaina speaks English- staff helped me carry luggage upCons:- long and taxing walk up to the room, mine was unfortunately at the very top- due to distance to and from my room, I’m deterred to go back to get anything after I step out so I ended up having to carry all the belongings I need down daily and I would not return unless absolutely needed- LOUD music that was almost unending- hot and full of mosquitoes- no one helped me take my luggage down nor helped me check out- no one except marylaina speaks English- does not have a lock for the door- dirty sheets and bathroom- does not have towels- slept maybe avg 3 hours a night (2 nights)

The harbor view is nice and the price is affordable. The design is ethnic and simple. The breakfast is good, and Selini, the owner, is really kind and helpful. But the road to get there is very small, and there's only parking space for 2-3 motorbikes.

I was so excited to stay at this place based on the beautiful photos. Unfortunately, my experience was a complete disaster.|From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by a loud and chaotic local party on the shore. …

I stayed at this hotel for two days and had a rather mixed experience.Starting with the positives, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The view from the hotel is truly breathtaking, especially at sunset, a true sight not to be missed. Furthermore, the furniture is very particular, with a unique style that gives character to the common spaces and rooms. However, there were several negative aspects that unfortunately detracted from the overall experience. In two days of accommodation we never had running water in the room, neither for the shower, nor for washing our hands or flushing the toilet. Every time we had to go to reception to ask for water to be made available, a significant inconvenience! The bedroom doors were difficult to open and close, adding further frustration. As for the restaurant, despite a seemingly varied menu, many of the options were not available. Furthermore, it closes at 8pm, a rather limiting time for those who want to dine calmly. Cleanliness is another aspect that leaves something to be desired: the room was not redone during our stay.In conclusion, despite some positive qualities, the numerous inconveniences made the stay disappointing and I cannot recommend this hotel.

I had read many negative reviews about the place, many out of place given that they referred to contextual conditions such as the presence of geckos and mosques, and we found it to be a very suggestive and unique place. The bungalows have a panoramic view of the port and are not far from the homes of the village, giving the opportunity to feel immersed in the local atmosphere. The room was clean and with attention to detail with the personal touch of the owner Marilena. We also found kindness and flexibility in managing a checkout after the standard time. The access road does not allow you to reach the entrance by car but there are only about ten steps and a short walk. Really highly recommended!
