The room was nice, plenty of hot water when electric is working. Internet ok when electric is on.The pool was empty. There was no restaurant, you could order food and it was delivered. One of the plugs was hanging off the wall and attempt had been made to fix it with black tape.The walk is not 45 mins from hostel. But it is a good location to do the walk. You can walk into village 15mins, then it's around 1.5hours to the top. Well worth the walk.Afen was available 24hrs drinks always available.Afen was very friendly, welcoming and asked about our day. He told us about the tours on offer.The owner also told us about tours and encouraged us to book. They were more expensive than available in the village.Locals also do onward travel at better rates than the owner.There's a lovely restaurant two minute walk away with beautiful views of the lake.Afen is an asset to the hostel with his welcoming approach.

Positives: upgraded to private room due to minimal guests. Staff were very friendly. Has a dog ๐ฅฐ๐ถ. LTE checkin was great for a 2200 arrival in the rain.Negatives: Poor location, almost no existent entry road. Food gets made offsite, then driven up the hill.Zero atmosphere and antisocial guests, quite dirty (I don't need a fancy place, I always hostel in dorms). Charged even for a tea... 10k IDR, all other places were free.Needs a cleanup and better road access.

Wondefull place! Queit, for relaxin. authentic area. Staff try make his best. Goog wtote about 150 for acomodetion but realy you can find for 125 for one person room and for 115 dormitorio. Stay here 4 days.

We arrived a few minutes after 10pm and were told that since it was high season, they had overbooked and the people who had shown up earlier during the day had taken the rooms blocked through booking! I've never seen anything like this, I was with 2 other friends and we had booked 2 spots.The owner called us directly telling me that I'm a stupid person because I hadn't lost the money, well of course the problem was that I had to ride the bike for 1.30 hours without lights in the freezing cold to get home!Worst situation ever had and very unpleasant person.Contacted booking to explain the situation, it is unacceptable to have a room booked and be told that the first arrivals took it due to overbooking!

Do NOT believe the good reviews on this place. I felt unsafe and left immediately because no one was there. I yelled out for help and literally I was completely alone there. The room was dirty. It was NOT the room from the pictures. I felt deceived, lied to, and tried my best to get a refund but the terrible owner did not help. They kept trying to send me their phone number via Agoda which Agoda blocked for safety and maybe it was for the better based on the reviews below stating how he was threatening people.This is NOT a good place. Trust my words. Stay far far away from here. There are so many other pondok properties even just walking distance from here that are beautiful and actually have a view. This property had none of thatโฆ.. AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL.

For a comfortable rest, the price is quite cheap, negotiable. It's just a shame that there are no places/food stalls so you can't see the view.

I will not recommend this accommodation to anybody. The huts smells really bad and are moldy. The toilet and bath facilities are dirty, smelly and moldy.

Putra and Putu are the GREATEST GUIDES on this entire island. Hostel is super nice and went to Mt Batur in the morning and was UNREAL. Best. Experience. Yet.

Best stay Iโve had at Bali. This camp has private bungalows with good bed, nice shower and beautiful design. Also the place is so calm and beatiful just ahead from the crowd! Also the owner and his staff are so kind and care about you. I just want to come back for them! Amazing, thanks!

I felt like my life was threatened by the owner. So i choose to leave rather than to take the fight.We where three people that had booked an extra night with him directly. When someone else booked online he threw us out.He got back and was extremly hostil. Even though i had a monotone voice and tried to not escalade it.He threathened with calling the indonesian president to get immigration to throw me out. And showed a picture of them together.He put all the blame on us and did not care that we had to find a new option 17:00 in the night.And he actualy had the nerve to say that we did a late checkout. Even though we agreed on an extra night.This guy does not feel safe. And i should have listened to the reviews.

the place is really beautiful and the rooms (small huts) look really nice and comfy and have private bathrooms with a nice style.The staff is very friendly, although we came really late for check in. They even offered us free coffee on the next morning. Stores and restaurants are reachable even by walking, cause we had problem with our motorbike and wanted to stock food for the Batur hiking. The only thing to complain is, the bathroom could be bit cleaner, but I think it will totally be fine, if we booked it not on same day. And the place is not far from one the hiking starting point.Thanks for the good stay!!!

It doesn't deserve any stars, don't book. We had booked 2 rooms with air conditioning for one night. We arrived, I think we weren't expected. The manager, more of a mafia guru, welcomes us if we can say that because he is very aggressive and even strange. We had 2 rooms without air conditioning, one of the doors did not close, and cleaning had not been done for several months, when we pointed this out to him he told us if you are not satisfied, you can leave. The manager is there just to pump money and nothing else. TO FLEE
