Penida Bambu Green Suites

Staying at Penida Bambu Green Suites was a unique and wonderful experience. The place was beautifully decorated, and the view of the ocean & mountains were unbeatable. But what really made this place stand out was the amazing, impeccable service provided for us by the Penida Bambu Team. Right at the moment of booking, the team reached out to us via WhatsApp to ensure they were well prepared for our stay. They helped us organize our harbor pick up and drop off, romantic dinners, restaurant reservations, you name it. They took care of everything for us and made sure our stay was stress free. I cannot thank Mayu and her teammates (Ewa & Desi — I’m sorry I may have gotten the names wrong) enough for arranging everything for us even at late hours. They arranged our massages, last minute drivers, floating breakfasts and really ensured that we wanted for nothing more.However, While our stay was near perfection, it wasn’t without any difficulties. I have to say that the rooms were smaller than expected and we were feasted on by the insects at night despite keeping the lights off, bringing down the bed nets and spraying insect repellent everywhere we could. The bed curtains are not big enough to make a seal around the bed and insects can still get to you while you’re asleep. But I think most inconvenient part of the room is the outdoor bathroom with the uneven, small wooden stairs to get to it. While it is not that much of an inconvenience in the morning, it was quite difficult to get to the toilet when you need to go at 3am in the morning. There were a few times that I opened the toilet bowl and there were insects inside and it made me quite paranoid to be honest. The stairs also make it difficult if you have mobility issues like us, (I have bad knees) and we did trip & fall a few times . Luckily I caught my husbands head in time and he only had a few scrapes and bruises after. But we made sure to be extra careful and not go alone after that, just to be safe.All in all, we did not let the small details ruin our stay. The helpful staff more than makes up for the little cons of the place and we will return here on our next trip, with our mindset a little bit more prepared.Thank you Penida Bambu Team. Located in the middle of the jungle, the hotel is only accessible via a narrow gravel road. Offering breathtaking views of the sea and Mount Agung, we were more than happy to trade in fast access to the main road. We enjoyed the lavish outdoor bathroom, the big pool and the room service. A big shoutout to Mayu, who offered incredible service.
