There was a hole in the mosquito net.The shower head fell off, was loose. Toilet roll holder broken, all tiles in the bathroom were broken and with holes in them. This hotel was part of an organized trip, I do not recommend this hotel.

It could have been great but the noise from the local hotel across the river was unbelievable. Karaoke until 3 am so no sleep . No sleep and trekking in the jungle in high humidity doesn't mix well . The noise completely ruined our stay and we couldn't wait to leave . On the positive side the staff and the guides were excellent, the food was reasonable and the tube down the river was fun . We saw 2 wild orangutans after 7 hours of trekking . But it was an experience. Access to the jungle on the door step . I felt sorry for the Eco lodge as they couldn't do anything about the noise. It was a public holiday so maybe that made it worse .

We stayed in Bukit Lawang for 3 nights. We spent one night in the jungle. Jungle trekking is highly recommended!! Our guide Martin in particular made it an unforgettable experience. He knows the national park very well and we were able to learn a lot about its residents. Martin respects animals and nature. Thanks to him we were able to see 5 orangutans and we always had enough time to take great pictures. The food in the lodge tastes very good, but our food in the jungle was even better. We have taken Martin very close to our hearts and would recommend hiring him as a guide to anyone who values a loving, funny and well-informed guide. The lodge is the perfect starting point for this.

The hotel offers an excellent starting point for orangutan trekking. The rooms are clean and well furnished. You should keep doors and windows closed if you don't want macaques to visit. The restaurant is good and cheap. Only the breakfast offering could be a little better.A jungle trekking with an overnight stay in the jungle is essential. A unique experience. However, physical fitness and sure-footedness should then be present. Be sure to ask for Martin as a guide. He is an excellent, warm guide and couldn't be better.
