The time in Bukit Lawang was really great. You felt very comfortable when you arrived and everyone was very nice. The breakfast and food were delicious.We slept in one of the 3 houses. We got the best one because it had its own toilet and shower. The room was simply furnished but clean.The tour with the guides: Satya, Raja and Sugi was an unforgettable experience. The three of them were a great team and adapted perfectly to the group. We took short breaks whenever we felt like it. All the food during the tour was very tasty. There was fruit, nasi goreng, pumpkin curry and much more. Everyone in the group really did find something to eat.The camp where we spent the night was by the river, so you could go for a swim after the sweaty hike. It was good that the camp was a bit further away from the other camps. This made it easier to enjoy the jungle feeling.I was pleasantly surprised by the beds in the jungle. They were much more comfortable than I expected. There were several "rooms" in which you spent the night. Both single and double rooms. With the help of mosquito nets, you were protected throughout the night.A big thank you goes to Satya, Raja and Sugi, who entertained our group very well. We all laughed a lot and had fun. All three were very helpful and friendly.

Exceptional! I spent 5 days at Brian's place including 3 days of trekking with two friends, everything was perfectly organized upon arrival at Medan airport, a driver was waiting for us to reach Bukit LawangBrian's welcome is warm, the briefing for the departure the next day of the trek clear and efficient. A big thank you to his team who accompanied us during the three days in the jungle: Rosyid the guide, Uma and Dani his teammates and Ewin the itinerant cook.Despite the deplorable weather conditions of the first day and the difficulties encountered by our age, they were very considerate, always attentive and very attentive! We saw several orangutans, Thomas leaves, and breathtaking landscapes! Thank you!!! It will remain a precious and unforgettable memory!We were able to enjoy a 5-star massage on our return! Thank you Brian, Sarah, and the exemplary jungle team 🙏

I loved the experience and I would give it a 10. They treated us great, they organized the trekking through the jungle and the driver from Medan airport to Bukit Lawang.The trekking has been very good Uma and Santia have been attentive to us at all times. We have seen orangutans, Thomas monkeys, ugon, peacocks, squirrels, monkeys, snakes, toucans. Spectacular meals, breakfasts and dinners to be in the jungle and prepare there, Uma and Santia prepared everything on the spot. The cook prepared a delicious dinner for us at the camp. We slept next to the river in the middle of the jungle. At the end of the trek we went rafting to go down to the town of Bukit Lawang. A totally recommendable adventure with them.Advice, take pumps for the river area, or sandals that hold your feet tightly, I went with flip-flops and I was slipping a lot.The trekking is not that tiring, it is up and down but it is fine. We didn't get bit by many mosquitoes but we didn't stop getting sick. The best natural mosquito repellent sold in Indonesia. An authentic adventure with animals in the wild. I loved that Uma and Santia take great care of nature and have respect for it.

If you want to discover Bukkit Lawang and the jungle, this is the best host you could wish for. You will meet the friendliest people who take care of you in such a profound way. The jungle trek they offer is incredible. We saw amazing wildlife and got served the most amazing meals. So, If you want to discover the jungle, do it with Thomas Leaf Monkeys, it's the best.

The staff at this hotel was very friendly and attentive to us, both during the stay and resolving any questions we had prior to the trip. The facilities are very nice, the food delicious and best of all: the guides who accompanied us on the jungle trekking (Santia and Uma) made our adventure through Sumatra unforgettable. Thank you all for this experience. We saw many animals and ate very well. Sleeping inside the jungle was simply incredible.

I went to Sumatra Thomas leaf monkey guesthouse through a recommendation of a friend. Brian was waiting at the bus terminal to pick me up. Once I arrived I felt like home straight away. The atmosphere there is just very peaceful and everyone super kind and friendly.I was meant to do the 2days/1 night trekk but after spending my first night jamming with the crew I changed my mind into 3/2 nights.The trek was amazing, I’ve learned so much in the jungle, we played loads of games, had some really good food and fruits all along, really good conversations and laughs about everything. (Big thank to Satya 🫶🏻)Once I came back from the trek, Brian was there to welcome us again, we had long chats and he helped me all along that journey to book my bus tickets and so on. I’ve extended my trip there for two more days as I really felt like home; really integrated. I can only highly recommend this place, the bungalows are really cute and cozy, the food is extremely delicious, the crew’s amazing, the location is perfect and you can get the chance to wake up and see some Thomas monkey few meters from you.I’d come back when I’ll have the chance too! Thank you again for making this part of my trip magical, miss you guys 🫶🏻Oli

I booked 2 day trekking trip with Thomas the leafmonkey-guesthouse and had a very short amount of time, but everything worked out well. There was a driver for me waiting in Medan at the airport at midnight, who drove me to Bukit Lawang and i startet the tour in the morning at 9 am. My Guide, his name was Uma was super sweet and caring and made the trip such special experience, because he could explain me so much about the jungle and had very nice conversations with me on a deeper level. Do highly recommend!

The room and bathroom were nice and clean. We also booked our jungle tour here, which was organized perfectly: from transfer, to the hike, to the overnight stay in the jungle. The dinner we had during our night in the jungle was one of the best we’ve had in Indonesia. Great local guides with a lot of knowledge and humor. Rafting back to the village was a great experience. Brian, the host, was very helpful on Whatsapp.
