I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Samara Villas- a boutique hotel nested in the serene rice fields of Ubud. This tranquil oasis provided the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.The hotel itself is beautifully designed, with a small but inviting pool that offers a refreshing dip after a day of exploring. The breakfast served each morning was exceptional, with a variety of delicious options to start the day right.The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready with a smile and eager to assist with any needs. My room was cozy and impeccably clean, and I particularly loved the outdoor shower – such a refreshing experience!One of the best aspects of this hotel is its location. It’s within walking distance to Ubud Market Street, restaurants, cafes, and bars. For those who prefer not to walk, the hotel also offers a convenient ride service.Overall, my stay was nothing short of wonderful. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat in Ubud.

It was a pleasant surprise to have such a wonderful rural landscape within walking distance from the center of Ubud, and to be able to stay at a hotel there.The hotel is accessed by a narrow road that cannot be accessed by car, but I didn't feel it was an inconvenience as the always smiling staff took me to and from the hotel on a scooter. It's only accessible by a narrow road, which is probably why this wonderful countryside remains undeveloped.The inn room had a private pool, which was nice on a slightly sweaty day.The service from the staff was excellent, and I have no complaints about this inn, but I would be happy if the shower was a little stronger, and the shampoo and body soap could have a better lather.I would give it a perfect score of 100.However, even with the current service, I would like to stay there again and recommend it to my friends. Please take a stroll through the countryside surrounding the inn.

The room was spacious, clean, and perfect for what we wanted. The kids loved the private pool and also the large spa bath tub. The breakfasts were amazing and the staff were so helpful and friendly. They offer scooter transport to and from the villas to the main street in Ubud and it's included in the price of the stay. Staff were very accommodating.It's the perfect distance away from the hustle and bustle of central Ubud. Would absolutely stay there again and recommend it to anyone travelling to the Ubud region.

Our 3 nights at the Samara was fantastic. We booked a villa with private pool mainly for the 2 bedrooms setting. The villa is very clean, yet the shower and bathtub are a bit dated which we don’t mind at all. The 2 bedrooms setting gave us more space for the family. A downside though, the 2nd bedroom is on the 2nd floor and parents with young children (like us) are forced to end the night early to keep an eye on each kid in different room.Breakfast was lovely as well. The menu offers western breakfast options and the portion was always more than enough. We always had to ask a downsize for the portion. And the restaurant area overlooks fields with ducks that do their marching every morning.Overall we love this place. All staff we met were so friendly, helpful and polite. The ladies staff always make sure we were well taken care of. Location wise is great. It’s away from the busy Ubud center but not too far from it (around 5 min ride by hotel motorbikes). We used the drop off pick up service numerous times and my kids loved it. It’s not recommended of course (there are some steep slopes and quite dark at night) but the rides were the highlight of their stay (they are 6 and 4)Thank you Samara for creating such a lovely experience for us.

I recently stayed at The Samara Villas in Ubud with my family, and the experience was absolutely wonderful. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, making us feel right at home.The villa we stayed in was perfect for our needs. It offered the ideal balance of comfort and luxury. The private pool and the sense of privacy were particularly important to us, and The Samara Villas delivered on both fronts.Additionally, the location is fantastic. It’s just a short walk to the beautiful rice fields and local shops, making it easy to explore the stunning surroundings at our leisure.I would highly recommend The Samara Villas to anyone looking for a peaceful and luxurious retreat in Ubud. Absolute best experience staying at the Samara Villas & Restaurant. The property is on an active rice field where you can watch farmers tend to the field. We had breakfast at the restaurant on most days, which overlooks the rice field. The food was tasty and a great way to start off the day. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and provided all toiletries needed (even insect repellent!). The outdoor showers added a memorable touch. The service was top notch accommodating all of my requests timely and without hassle. Rusma deserves a special should out for her service. She scootered down to hail us a taxi because she knew we were running late to our special birthday dinner at Mozaic. I’ll forever remember her kindness. If you are ever in Ubud, I highly recommend staying at the Samara villas and restaurant.

Had a wonderful stay at the Samara Villas! They were very helpful and accommodating leading up to, during, and after our stay with all of our questions and requests. Could not have asked for a better place to stay. The rooms were very clean and had a great view of some rice fields. Make sure to keep an eye out in the mornings for the ducks to march by!Breakfast here was very good and very well priced. We did not eat any dinners here, unfortunately.They went above and beyond for us during our stay, helping make the trip stress free at every turn.As a side note, cars are not allowed down the street, but the villa will gladly transport you and/or your luggage to/from the main road with their motor bikesThank you Samara for everything and hope to be back soon!

We stayed in this wonderful facility for 7 days.It is located in the middle of rice terraces and can only be reached on foot or by scooter, as cars are not allowed to drive long here.It's correspondingly quiet here,what creates the special flair.The free shuttle service by scooter takes you to the main street in 3 minutes and, if you wish, will pick you up there again just as quickly. The service has always worked reliably. A quick call via Whatsapp is enough.We found the location perfect. It is secluded and from here you can take a hiking trail along the rice terraces.Or you can use the shuttle service and be right in the hustle and bustle of the main street with all the cafes, restaurants, bars and taxis, from where you can easily travel in all directions.The complex is very clean, both the rooms and the pool. There are a total of four loungers including towels at the pool, which is completely sufficient. As a rule, we even had the pool to ourselves. Reserve loungers a la Mallorca - there is no such behavior here. 😉Our apartment offered a spacious closet, a safe, a refrigerator and a large double bed with a thick, good (branded) mattress.The air conditioning was also well positioned and didn't blow cold air directly onto the bed.We particularly liked the outdoor shower. It was really an experience.The daily room service had no fixed times, but cleaned unobtrusively whenever we were having breakfast or out and about.The towels always smelled very pleasant.A laundry service is also offered, but we didn't need it.The food here on site is very tasty. The breakfast offered several variations from omelets with toast to pancakes to muesli and oatmeal.Plus coffee, juices and of course tropical fruits.You could also have lunch or dinner on the open, covered terraceeat something. And at reasonable prices. In addition to the local specialties, there was also Italian food. I really enjoyed the pizza.You also always have the option of filling cold water into your own bottles at a dispenser. For the room or for trips. We found that very practical.There was also a bike rental service, but we didn't use it.The staff is always friendly and helpful and speaks good English.All in all, a very nice facility that we can recommend. We took a villa (a lounge, a bedroom, and a private pool). The place was very beautiful and quiet, and the kitchen was equipped with basic things for light cooking. The cleanliness of the place in general was excellentThere is a popular market and cafes close to it, and it was beautiful. We went for a walk to it 👍🏻But the place's drawback is that it does not have a telephone to communicate with the employees. The place is a little difficult to reach either by walking or by a vehicle of the same service as they have, because it is considered inside the farms.Breakfast is okay, but if you order it in the room, you serve yourself😅

This was the nicest accommodation we had on our Bali trip.We were accommodated in the front part. There are three small "villas" there, each consisting of hotel rooms. The rooms are very clean and easy to cool down. The bathroom is super nice and has an outside shower.In the evening there are a lot of geckos in front of the entrance doors. We always thought that was very nice, but it could be a bit of a hindrance for people who have problems with geckos.The pool is clean and great for cooling off.The breakfast is fantastic and plentiful. The staff is super friendly.The hotel is located in the middle of the rice fields. We liked that a lot.What should be mentioned is that you cannot reach the hotel by car. You can be picked up by scooter and taken into the city. We mostly walked into town.Outside there are a few warungs within walking distance where you can have dinner.You can refill your water bottle for free at the hotel and there is even included afternoon tea with cake.

We booked the one bedroom villa with private pool, very good location very close to the city center, very quiet place, great service and the team is very smiling, kind, looking after you. We just found it a shame that the parasols were torn, there were no cushions on the garden furniture on the roof top to rest on, a lot of limescale in the bathroom and one of the two sinks was clogged. The price is very high compared to prices in Bali and that's why we give it 4 because we expected perfect accommodation in every way.We still recommend it.
