The host Wayan is so sweet and helpful! She was kind and gave great food suggestions, and over island tipsThe room was clean and had everything you’d need, including good aircon.You can rent bike with her for 100k a day and over the stay was very pleasant. I would book again! Thanks Wayan :) Great value!

This was a an excellent stay. The family is nice. The rooms are small but well down. Perfect size for a rest since you will be out exploring during the day anyway. The family is very nice as well. It was perfect.

Location is very dangerous with a very narrow and busy road with no place to walk, all services are far, no restaurants close to it, the host is very rude and unwelcoming. There Alot of insects and 🦎 lizards .Very small rooms with a little privacy. She has a washing machine but she said it's broken,after a few hours she was washing with it !!!

Very friendly owners, we enjoyed our stay. We were able to rent a very good bike. There is small restaurant nearby with very tasty food on the left side, and on the right side you can do your laundry for a good price.

A wonderful hotel, very responsive and caring owners, especially the hostess - a wonderful woman with a big heart! The room is clean, there is hot water, the air conditioning works very well. There is a kettle, tea, coffee (very tasty), plates and cups in the room. The hotel itself is located in a closed area, you can’t hear the noise of cars at night, even though it is located on one of the main streets. I highly recommend this place to stay for a long period)

A really nice homestay in Ubud. Location was great, not so far from Ubud center, you could ask the owner in advance to rent motorbikes. The place was neat and clean. Room facilities were new; AC, hot shower, fridge, kettle all worked well; soap, towels, free tea and coffee were provided; the bed was comfortable with mosquito net. I enjoyed the atmosphere of this place where I could hear the roosters crowing in the morning.And what made my stay here become a fulfilling experience were the owner and all the family members, who were so kind and hospitable, which made me feel very welcome. If you need a drink or a light meal and don't want to walk too far just visit the Birama Coffee Ubud right next to the homestay, which is also owned and run by the family.Overall great homestay with cheap price and I highly recommend.

Our entire stay at Gembala Homestay has been wonderful. The facilities and rooms are perfect for spending a few days in Ubud. The room is clean and offers you everything you need (coffee, hot water, mosquito net, refrigerator, towels).And all this accompanied by an extraordinary host Wayan. She has helped us with everything we have needed, showing us less touristy places, giving us instructions for our purchases and always worrying about our well-being. A wonderful person, both she and her husband.Delighted with our stay at Gembala Homestay that we would definitely recommend and repeat. Sukṣema (सुक्षेम)

Amazing homestay. The rooms were very clean and nice with cold AC and a hot shower. The location is great, being a quick scooter ride from everywhere in Ubud. The stand out by far however is the hospitality of the owners. They were always friendly and gave us great information and tips about the area and Balinese culture generally. They let us join the Galungan celebrations with them in their family temple and even provided us with traditional clothes to wear which were appropriate for the occasion. Would reccommend!

An inexpensive two-story hotel with 6-7 rooms and a shared kitchen. Located on a busy street, but the room is quiet. The owners are good people!

Homestay was run by family, satisfied all my basic needs, cheap, clean and neat, hot shower well water pressure, what I love most was the bed, they use foam bed which is quite firm, instead of broken spring beds compare to other hotels.Downside you don't get amenities and water, still great deal with the price. Location is quite distance with monkey forest, but you can get cheap foods surrounding, don't forget to bargain!Overall I recommend Gembala Homestay, stayed for 5 days in here.

We liked it. The rooms are clean, with refrigerators, but no TVs. The hostess is friendly. The rooms have balconies, but there is no special view - trees block even the second floor level. Within walking distance there is a large popular supermarket and a famous restaurant.

Spent 3 wonderful night in this modern, comfortable room just a few minutes ride , or 20 minute walk from the very heart of Ubud. This is Balinese hospitality at its very best. I will always return here. Very comfy 4 poster bed, excellent wifi and the families warmth will melt your heart
