We will remember our experience at Subdikar Homestay for a long time, but not really as the best in Raja Ampat...+ // Concerning the bungalows, they were not great luxury, but they complied with the "standard" of Raja Ampat with a rather pleasant terrace for resting. The food was very good and plentiful, no complaints there.- // We found that there was a lot of waste around the homestay (and in the village in general). As in all the islands of Raja Ampat, this is not the main concern, and they are not very aware of the subject. But still, removing the trash around the homestay would be nice. But above all, contrary to other comments, we did not feel welcome on this island at all. This is the first time in almost 3 years of traveling that we have felt so uncomfortable. The host is the only one who has any knowledge of English, which perhaps partly explains this. But apart from the host and his dad with whom we were able to exchange a little, at least a few smiles, everyone else looked away from us. For example, they came to drop off the meal and even though we were in the room, they didn't look at us and didn't try to talk. We asked if we could walk around the village. The host kindly accompanied us and even took us to church on Sunday morning. Here again, apart from suspicious glances, no exchange despite our attempts with our most beautiful smiles... It was very frustrating. But the worst was when we came back from a snorkeling trip and realized that the host's brother, who was driving the boat, had taken advantage of our head being underwater. to help ourselves in our wallet... Already we had not been able to make the planned outing (bad weather or laziness on their part to make the journey?, after 3 days of change of program we no longer know what think about it)... In short, we clearly felt that tourism is not at all their priority. We said to ourselves that it would be nice to get off the beaten track a little and go to a more authentic little village... Well we won't have been disappointed!! But that doesn't mean we'll try the experience again!!

Lovely overwater bungalows with great (sunset) views from the veranda. The family is very fiendly and the food delicious and plenty. The two kamar mandi, and two kamar kecil were also spacious and clean. The housereef is very nice, bordering on the seagrass and the mangrove, together a very important marine habitat. Great snorkeling trips can be made to Tamaku Reef, to Ofo and somewhere to see manta's which we did actually see. It is a bit out of the way, but the Wasai pickup was not wasted because we went through beautiful Kabui Bay and the narrow passage. Also at Manyaifun you are already halfway to Wayag, so you can visit this amazing place for a reasonable price and time investment. One of the sons speaks good English but a little bahasa won't hurt. We stayed in Subdikar Homestay for 5 nights, March 2023.

Great homestay. The food was very good, varied and always plentiful.Fish, vegetables, cakes, pastries, fruits and delicious coffee with milk. The family was very nice and always tried to make our stay as nice as possible. The bed was comfortable and the homestay has a nice veranda with a view of the mangroves and the sea. Everything was very clean and nicely decorated. At night we saw bioluminescent plankton. Magical!!!We took two trips to Tamaku Reef and Tamaku Island which were fantastic. The reef and the fish were some of the best we saw in three weeks RA.We enjoyed it very much and we hope that more tourists come to Manyaifun; It is worth it .
