Arborek is a nice island with very nice people. The house was not great, but great value for the price. The food was good, they served nice fish with simple rice and vegetables. The town was nice with a small supermarket, where you could buy cold beers.The snorkeling was great around the island, but the best places had a strong current. We also took a diving trip and went to a place where we saw three huge manta’s. They did say that seeing manta’s was rare.During one afternoon we played football with some very fanatic kids, they really loved it and we did too. One kid had a ronaldo shirt and after every goal he said suuuiiiii.

Me and my friend had an amazing stay at Sunset Homestay. All the friendly people (we had such a nice connection with Utami and Marcello) that work there really take good care of you and they think along with what you want to do. The food is really good, they arrange transport for the activities you want to do. The accomodation is clean and comfortable. Also, this town is so nice and the people are so friendly and welcoming towards people who visit their village like us. Arborek is small but there are so many nice things to do, and the snorkeling there on the reefs is amazing. Would highly recommend!

Magnificent shed. We took a trip with the mantas. Tip: leaving early around 8 a.m. is best. We were able to swim with the manta rays, there were around ten of them, it was magnificent...

One the better homestays I’ve seen in the area. We stayed in a newer one on the water and it was a lovely experience. The mattress was comfortable, the fan stayed on all night (electricity is off during the day until 6pm like most places), and the bungalow was well designed. The food was good and had variety.The two thing that could improve is more food, we often wanted seconds but there was no more food after the first round. Also breakfast was typically a piece of bread or cake. It would be nice if they could provide some eggs and fruit. When we asked to borrow fins and snorkels, they only had fins so bring your own!The owner arranged a boat ride to Waisai and it was easy to communicate through simple English and google translate.

Homestay looks like the pictures and food was good and everything was clean.However, the owners are not as friendly as expected based on the comments. Barely speak English (or don't want to). He wanted to deduct us when we picked us up in Waisai (we wanted more than 1M). No introduction to where what is; no recommendation for activities (even after asking because they don't understand anything), no joy of life, no sympathy...While walking to the bungalow, a board suddenly fell down on the jetty (several loose boards), which can be very dangerous if a leg gets caught.

Very nice place to stay in beautiful Arborek Island. It's very clean, the construction is new, the food is fantastic. Utami and her staff are super friendly and helpful. We went with a little boat and a kid to Manta sandy and we swimed with many mantas . We were absolutely alone. Unbelievable experience.Around the main harbor you can chill and drink a coconut or a cold beer while you see the sunset.We went diving with nearby dive shop Arborek , also very recommended. Book in advance.

We spent 5 nights at Sunset homestay and were very satisfied. The bungalows are basic but do the job perfectly in this little corner of paradise. The meals were good and the location and view incredible. The family was very nice. It was very calm and relaxing.
