We had a good time spending two nights here. It’s an idyllic area and the rooms are hosted by a local family which were always friendly towards us. There’s a really good scooter rental nearby which I can only recommend (as otherwise you can’t reach anything pretty much anyway)The room was pretty new and had a well working AC. There’s even a bit of a view from the balcony.But there’s also some downsides. There’s a rooster screaming a lot of the time. Also there is a lot of dogs not only on the street but also on the facility, if you are scared of wild dogs this might not be the right place for you. Also we had some problems with ants in our room, as they could anger through the door.

My husband and I stopped at Penol House 2 weeks ago. Before coming there we were excited, we saw the pictures, read the reviews and were expecting an amazing stay, with friendly host in a quiet area. But once we moved in, there was nothing but disappointment!First of all, there was no view, our room was on the first floor, even though when we booked it, it seemed that we will have a room with a balcony and a view. But all we got was the view to some local people everyday life, some construction and renovation of their own homes.Secondly, the host was nice, but the room, it is much smaller than on the picture, the front door is the same thing as the balcony door, it's thin, plastic, with some space between the floor, so ants can come and go, and it is loud.Also, there are no cafes around, you either have to order, drive 5-7 min, or walk 10 min to the closest restaurant, which isn't good.The final point was morning, we woke up at 7.45 because local people we not just talking to each other but screaming, of course, they have a right to do so, but we weren't prepared for it. So we just packed our stuff, and left the same morning!I don't recommend it, I didn't like it, maybe the second floor better, I don't know.Just felt very frustrated, and surprised with the reviews!

Worst experience on Bali in 2 month. Hosts are nice people and it's only one positive side.Rooms on ground floor, so the view from pictures and video isn't available. What you will see from room on ground floor? Just a regular yard with bad looking animals, half naked children and a lot of neighbours.There is no instructions how to check in, no navigation, no reception and people around do not speak English. So you need to resolve this puzzle by your own.Location is very bad. On the map you can see different cafes, but in fact there is only one and it takes 10 minutes to walk to it. And this cafe has a very poor service and awful food. And finally, at the first evening I was attacked by dogs from neighborhood.Very last bad things occured at morning. At 5 am roosters starts crows (and it's ok), then at 6 am neighbours starts their ceremonies. And exactly at 7-45 am same neighbours start shouting, laughing, sneezing, children start screaming and all of it right in front of your door on ground floor. So you can't sleep anymore and it will go on all day.In the end we spent in the hotel only one night of five booked and left this place. Host was so sorry, but didn't offer us any money refund.Stay away of this place.

It was a very Indonesian-style accommodation. (Completely satisfied)I live in a place where a large family lives, and this feels very familiar and special to me. (Of course, there are separate buildings and rooms.)People are very friendly. The owner runs a laundromat right in front of the house, and it's so friendly and warm to see her smile brightly every time I pass by.😄I asked the owner about renting a scooter, and I was able to rent a scooter right away. It was the cleanest and in the best condition among all the scooters I rented in Bali.It breaks my heart that I couldn't say hello to you because I had to rush out on the day of check-out.Stay healthy and happy always.☺️

Very noisy neighbors. NO Door 🚪 in the toilet 🚽. No parking 🅿️ area, even for a bike. NO view as an photo in Booking, because ONLY the ground floor rooms are available 🤷But friendly owners, and a new building 😉

THE PERFECT QUIET STAY.It is a small indonesian house located a few minutes far from the busy center. Surrounded by hundred of heron birds and with amazing views from the second floor. The host and neighbors are very lovely and pleasant. Wishing to come back soon!! Terima kasih 🌸

PENOL HOUSE is a homestay with Indonesian characteristics. It is located on a small hill and has an excellent view from the second floor of the building. Herons fly over every morning to say hello and enjoy unprecedented tranquility.The people living around are all relatives of the owner of the B&B, making it feel like home. After spending five short days in the company of nature, I bid farewell to Ubud with a feeling of reluctance.1. There is Landry next door to the B&B, which is also run by the owner.2. Motorcycle rental service is available3. The refrigerator in the lobby can be shared
