We stayed at the Phuket Thaihouse (Villa 7) for 2 weeks through Airbnb and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were very attentive and kind, and they always attempted to speak English with us which was very nice. They even arranged a taxi to take us from the airport to the Thai house at a price of 400 baht. We would recommend this as you could miss the turning fairly easily, as they only have a sign facing one side of the road so there’s a 50/50 chance of missing the turning. Once you get here, it’s easy to find your bearings. The pool area is very well maintained, albeit a little small, and there are only 2 sun beds, however we never had a problem as it is very quiet and very peaceful. It was very well kept and warm.We rented a scooter during the stay, which was arranged by the hosts, there was a designated parking area and you definitely needed a scooter to get around to the main attractions, as the location is a little secluded from the bigger areas/hotspots. The man who runs the scooter rental which the Thaihouse staff use for guests, was British so we felt comfortable in the knowledge that we knew what we signed up for with no hidden fees. We would highly recommend getting a scooter from him.Moving onto the Villa (V7), it was a mostly very positive experience, but at times it felt like it lacked a little privacy with only a small thin veil covering the windows, especially at night when you had the lights on. However once you got used to it, it was fine. There is also very minimal soundproofing in the room, so if you can’t sleep with noise you may struggle. The insects and animals are very loud at night (as you’d expect for the location and surroundings). But honestly, we got used to it very quickly, and accepted it as part of the traditional experience.During our stay we had a number of interactions with the staff, they even brought us pumpkin and banana cake (made by Ying) which was a very kind gesture for thinking of us. We also had a couple of jokes running about how late we woke up (as we were suffering pretty badly with jet lag!). Generally all staff leave you to it, and let you relax in peace.Regarding food and refreshments, there were a few places nearby to eat recommended to us, however we were just given their phone numbers and not their location which made it a bit difficult for us to find them or know how close they were in proximity to the site. A map would have been better! We ended up making use of the in-room toaster and the kettle quite a few times and had pot noodles/ramen for dinner in our rooms. We did not make use of the shared kitchen much, as we preferred the privacy of our own room. We would have loved a sink/washing up facilities in the room!Pro’s:- Absolutely gorgeous architecture, and traditional design- Peaceful, serene, and pretty- Excellent, friendly, and helpful staff- Plants and greenery very well looked after- Well maintained- Excellent cleaning service- Quiet landscapes- Really feels like a peaceful escape- Highly recommend staying hereCon’s:- Some loud music can be heard at night- A little bit out of the way of main attractions- Need a scooter to get around- The site is still under construction so there is some building work going on during the day, but it’s not too intrusiveVilla specific:- The bathroom is located outside of the main room, and is loud to access in the night, especially if someone is asleep next to you- You have to ask for your room to be cleaned, and have to give them the key- There is a shared kitchen between V7 & V6, and it is a bit inconvenient, we would have preferred a washing up facility in the room.Overall, the stay was better than expected and excellent value for money. Thank you!
