First of all, the POSITIVE +We booked 2 nights online and then paid on site at check-in. The woman at the reception was very friendly and speaks good English. We were even allowed to check in at 10 a.m., even though the check-in time is stated to be 1 p.m.The fact that the resort is a bit out of the way wasn't a problem for us at all as we were planning on renting a scooter anyway. You can also check on Google Maps before booking to find out exactly where the resort is and what is nearby.In the reviews, many complain about not being able to swim in the sea; My husband and I cannot confirm that. We had a good swim in the sea, the beach was clean and the sand was nice and fine. On Koh Mak we saw many other beaches that weren't as nice and where you really couldn't swim. Since we were there out of season (May), the resort was completely empty and we basically had the beach to ourselves.Now for the NEGATIVE -The pool was dirty and full of flies. But that's no surprise for a tropical island resort and didn't bother us because we wanted to go into the sea anyway.We booked the cheapest room and therefore had no special expectations. Unfortunately, there were 3 lizards in the room upon arrival, which I discovered when I wanted to use the kettle. They were also behind the curtains. The reason for this was that the entrance door in the cheap bungalows does not close properly (see photo). There is a 2cm wide gap above the sliding door through which larger lizards and other creepy crawlies can easily get into the room. When traveling to nature in Thailand, it is of course to be expected that you will find insects - but please not in the bedroom with an entrance door that is not properly closed.After we explained our problem, we were kindly offered another room with a fly screen, but we immediately saw the next lizard there too. We left the resort early because unfortunately I couldn't feel comfortable anymore. Luckily we got a refund for the second night.Conclusion: The resort is really nice, the staff was very friendly. But if you're a bit afraid of lizards like me, you should know beforehand that they probably can't be avoided in the resort.

The staff must be very accommodating. Everyone is lovely. Breakfast is a small buffet but ok, not bad. The food at the school is delicious, inexpensive, fresh, clean, the rooms are nice and clean. Not small for 2 adults, 2 small children The atmosphere is quiet, the breeze is cool, very suitable for relaxing.

Entirely disappointing. Not tidied up and NO BEACH at all. We booked a beach villa but there is no beach! Also a lot of insects and no nets or other protection. Please do not go there!

Excellent service from the staff, manager Pat and waitress Aom looked after us exceptionally well. All the staff were very polite and helpful. Rocky beach was the only let down, making swimming difficult without mask or goggles.

A very comfortable and peaceful resort...The restaurant food tastes good. . No problem if you don’t go out for a day. . The service was excellent. Very clean! Perfect choice for vacationThere are also free canoe rentalsIf you want to rent a motorcycle, it costs THB 250 per day.

The hotel is a bit remote, but certainly suitable for those seeking peace and quiet. The restaurant cooks very well and the selection is large. We also found the breakfast sufficient and were able to have breakfast right by the water. Unfortunately, from the afternoon onwards there are no more shaded areas at the beautiful pool and there are no loungers on the beach.The staff is very helpful and friendly.

Quiet, good atmosphere, friendly staff, has a swimming pool with a beautiful view. But it is recommended to reserve a motorbike or bicycle with us. hotel first Because the hotel is quite far from food and drink restaurants. You will have easy access to the beach to have dinner. The atmosphere outside has changed.

Simpel put, it’s perfect. There all talking about “the perfect beach” to stay or “the best location” but the island is basically a big village.. Get a nice place, you’re going to be everywhere in 5 or 6 minutes :-)

It's a very quiet place.I think the hotel is generally clean and well-maintained.There is no TV, but you can relax while listening to the sound of the waves.The room is also spacious and comfortable.You can also have your room cleaned frequently.just…When I write about the bad things...The water pressure in the shower is low, making it difficult to take a shower.The beach in front is rocky and not suitable for swimming.Fishing is prohibited.I don't have anything hot for breakfast, so I get tired of it after two days.Although it is a little far away, I recommend eating outside.The owner warns the staff in front of the customers.I think it's a 4-star hotel, and the staff are wonderful, but in many ways it's a 3-star hotel.Ah!Correct.The owner may be trying his best.Employees' private conversations are noisy and they are fiddling with their smartphones a lot.I think it's better to ban smartphones while working or in front of customers.I think this hotel has great facilities and is a good hotel, but it is missing an important part of the hotel.If there are no other hotels available on Koh Mak, I would probably make a reservation.
