DOX Ko Lanta Thailand

Great and very modern hotel with a great owner. The room and bathrooms are modern and stylishly furnished and also have air conditioning. The hotel is located approximately in the middle of the west side. From there, all sights, beaches, etc. can be easily reached by scooter. A 7-Eleven is right nearby. Sven is also a cool and funny guy who is easy to talk to. He also runs a restaurant. They even have currywurst there, which is really good in terms of price and taste. Overall, highly recommended.

I really enjoyed my stay at DOX! The owners are really friendly and you can really ask for anything. The rooms were clean & cleaned every day. I also met incredibly nice people at DOX and had an unforgettable time! The air conditioning works great & the bathroom was also perfect. The only thing I can complain about is that the duvets were very small & the mattresses were a bit uncomfortable. But that's really complaining at the highest level! The owner also has his own restaurant which I can highly recommend and as a hostel resident you even get a discount. The Bánh Mi was super tasty!

Location was great but that’s about it for this place. Looks like it could have been a nice hostel to stay at a few years ago but you can tell they’ve let it go. We arrived to the hostel mid afternoon to find out room was FULL of flies and mosquitoes. There was a pretty massive gap in the door frame letting them in. We asked the owner if there was another room available because ours was full of flys, he someone arrogantly said no they were fully booked and said he’d spray some fly killer in the room. We later came to the room and noticed a very pungent chemical smell and yet there were still flys. We ran into the owner again a bit later and he tried to gas light us into thinking there weren’t any flys when he checked. On top of that the blankets provided were 5’ x 2.5” and the thickness of a towel. We asked if there was anyway we could get a second one and he abruptly said no and walked away. On top of all of that the privacy screens only covered about 1/3 of the bed and looked like they had been used and abused for years. They have signs saying they’ve just started a family and are busy with that which is very fair, but if that’s the case they should hire more staff to help out. We ended up staying one of our 3 nights there and moved to a better near by hostel. They must had seen us leaving as we were on our way back to let them know that we had left when we got an email saying our booking was canceled and we couldn’t get a refund. I would not recommend this place to anyone until they put a little upkeep into the place and the owner changes his attitude a bit.As you can see from the response below he’s a gaslighter and manipulator. All his reviews are paid reviews from bot sites or German friends of his. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy

Small hotel complex with a restaurant. We only ate and drank something there, so no review of the rooms.The menu is clear, with a balance of Thai and Western dishes. After a few weeks in Thailand, currywurst and pita were almost mandatory and very, very tasty.Good luck with your future plans!Oh yes: the hotel and restaurant are on a small side street, not easy to find... but worth it! Hence the restriction on location.Small addition: A small night market will be established there on Wednesday evenings. We thought it was great!Has moved; the new restaurant is called Pak Chee and is now 3 km away (towards the pier)!

I came to DOX for a few days and kept extending my stay. nice place, clean and comfy, lovely backyard, friendly and chilled stuff. I tried private & dorm rooms - enjoyed staying at both.

Classic, 2 nights turned into 5! We felt comfortable right from the start, as both the operators and the staff are very warm and helpful :) the hostel is modern, clean and you can reach everything very easily because Lanta is nicely laid out. You can rent scooters on site and a bar/restaurant, a good massage studio and a 7/11 are right around the corner! We only ate Thai food in Thailand, but Sven's new restaurant is definitely worth a visit to add some variety! We would have liked to stay longer and will definitely come back!

Great rooms. Comfy bed. Nice design. Great ac and wifi. Room hammock!!!! You can rent a scooter from Sven. Great spot in Klong Khong Beach. The town here is so peaceful and nice. The beach has lots of chill hippie bars and great food. Thank you so much for a great stay. So relaxing and peaceful. We also stayed an extra night than planned.

Initially we booked this place for 4 nights, ended up staying 8 nights since we enjoyed the place/koh lanta so much. Comfortable spacious rooms with everything you need, calm and quiet location and lovely hosts.Thank you Sven and Sanny for making our stay so amazing. We felt very welcome and at home and we’re grateful for everything.we will be back!!(they have many sweet cats as well!!)
