Great place literally on the water, rustic living no ac but mosquito net and fan. Great if you like simple accommodation. Were there during slow season so it was quiet and peaceful. Locals and staff were lovely.

We booked a trip to Ko Lipe for Xmas and New Year quite late, so we did not have many options to choose from. Varin has great view, walking distance to the beach, and really low price. But as many people said, the room is very basic, with hazards like nails poking out, if your bungalow is quite centered then you can hear people walking and talking outside very clearly. I did not like the sheets (does not seem clean maybe coz of the color but I can understand why they don't use white sheets) & lack of light in the room (which makes the place looks a bit creepy), shower is basic and I saw some little animals here and there but oh well . I think overall it seems ok to stay if you spend most of your day and night out diving or at the beach, but otherwise I don't recommend it. If you don't mind traveling across, I would recommend staying at national part at ko adang either with the camping site or with the bungalow there, it was amazing!

The counter guy is rude and not helpful. From his voice tone can hear that he is complaining as the foreigner don't understand Thai language.

Small, unclean and uncomfortable bungalows. Unfriendly receptionist. The mattress was way too dirty and used. The toilets were too bad most of the bungalows are under no shade at all, what makes them extremely hot during the day.

Rooms are exactly as advertised, very basic. But badly maintained and full of hazards. Nails sticking out everywhere, we cut our fingers a few times, cigarette buds from construction leftover, showerhead broken, water doesn't run a few hours a day, toilet and shower are from the bucket. Water coming out of the tap is dirty, black, full of particles.However, it's on the beach. So fantastic view and easy to snorkel even if you don't want to go on a boat trip.

Rustic, spartan, mattress out of use for 20 years, but incredible stay! At the edge of the beach, a stone's throw from the 7-11, impeccable cleanliness. I recommend
