2 Warnings ⚠️:1. NEVER EAT IN A RESTAURANT THAT IS PART OF A HOTEL.2. NEVER EAT INDIAN FOOD AT AN INDIAN RESTAURANT ABROAD.We were disappointed. Why? Because of:Tasteless foodWe ordered the deluxe thali instead of the regular one. Naturally, it cost more, but what we received was food worse than what my maid prepares. The two sabjis had no flavor at all. The dal was bland, and the rice was of poor quality—not even basmati. The only thing that was acceptable was the gulab jamun, which I suspect they outsourced.Lame excuses from the restaurant attendantWhen we complained about the tasteless food, they simply added more chili powder and garam masala to the vegetables. As for the low-quality rice, they replied, "We don't serve basmati rice here." Hilarious, right? Even an average restaurant in India serves basmati rice as standard. Another absurd statement from the staff was, "Sir, if you had ordered à la carte, we would have served you better quality food." Wait, what? 😮😮 Are you saying you deliberately serve lower-quality food for non-À la Carte orders?Staff attitudeIf this restaurant were in India, even the slightest discomfort from a customer would likely result in a full refund because we take customer reviews and hospitality seriously. But here, the staff's attitude was carefree, as if they were doing us a favor by serving us. When I threatened to leave a low rating on Google, they suddenly brought out basmati rice. Throughout my complaints, the staff stood there expressionless, with no sign of concern.Zero value for moneyThis so-called deluxe thali cost 250 Baht (620 INR or 7.38 USD)—an absolute joke for the quality we received.IMHO, the problem with Indian restaurants abroad is that they assume Indian tourists have no other option than to eat Indian food, so they take us for granted and serve whatever they feel like. Not to mention, the lack of competition doesn't help.

I had dinner tonight at Papa Ji Indian Resturant. The food was delicious, and the service was very professional and prompt.I had the cream soup and the mutton Sagwala. The cream soup was very good, and the mutton was tasty. This restaurant, which is also part of a hotel of the same name, is conveniently located near the Baiyoke Hotel.Service was above par, and they really took good care of me on this visit. The restaurant serves beer and drinks for those people who like to enjoy a libation with their dinner. It's not fancy, but it's great food at a reasonable price accompanied by excellent service. I recommend this resturant.
