The hotel is quite good for its price. I have used a single room with a private bathroom (I don't know what the rest of the shared rooms will be like). The bathroom has a large bathtub, without a curtain, but it is not like in other places where it splashes all over or is on top of the toilet or sink, it is quite comfortable. They warn you about humidity and that you open the window. I have not found it necessary (more humidity comes in from the street when doing so). Being summer and using fresh water, humidity does not form in the bathroom. The towels are mini size, like almost everywhere. They are even bidet size, not even hand size. But you can take them yourself at night (they ask you to leave them at reception to wash). So they don't make the room for you, and being small it is appreciated if you want to leave things in the middle and not let anyone enter. It is also very, very clean. The guy at the reception was very nice and attentive. He explains things to you if you ask him, he contacts you on WhatsApp if you want, no need to use KakaoTalk...The hotel offers the excursion to the DMZ which is the same price as the rest of the private tours and at least they pick you up at the same hotel early (they leave the entire group in Myeondong, because a van picks you up from the hotels and then you together on a bus). I recommend doing it with the hotel, since you see the same thing. It has a washing machine and dryer to do your laundry yourself. Kitchen and microwave in case you want to buy something to eat at a nearby store...The area is peculiar depending on where you enter, but don't be scared (arriving from nowhere and entering where I did, you find drunks on the ground... but they don't do anything). My advice, don't go around the oval park that appears on Google Maps. In fact, from the Jongno 3-ga Metro station (a stop with a lot of lines, super useful for going everywhere) if you look closely, you have several exits. Depending on which line you are on, the underground transfer can be longer or shorter (and if you go with suitcases, it will go up and down many sections, but it depends on which line you take). I recommend leaving through exit 5, which is closer to the hotel, you avoid the park and the bad image and you will see that you are on a very lively street with many things (the two that exit at exit 5 in two different directions). You also have Ikseon-dong Hanok Village just a stone's throw away, with many more posh restaurants for dinner than on other streets. Not to be confused with Bukchon, which has nothing to do with it (and you can walk too, I recommend at dawn, the streets are safe and you will be alone, without tourists and without embarrassing calls). Also Insadong Culture Street that leaves from a street next to the hotel, to shop especially for souvenirs and things like that.Jonggak Avenue of Youth, super lively and full of people, with many restaurants and bars. And the Cheonggyecheon River, which is great at night and you can walk perfectly.
