Absolutely amazing guest house in Ishigaki! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (9.5/10)This place is a gem tucked away in Ishigaki, just a short 10-minute walk from all the action – cafes, restaurants, and the lively town center.What I loved:⭐️ Authentic Japanese Charm: The tatami mats, hammocks, and beautiful art create a truly immersive experience.⭐️ Dream Kitchen: Three fridges (including one for beer!), a massive cooking space, rice cookers, toaster ovens – you name it, they have it!⭐️ Spotless: The entire house is impeccably clean, from the dorms to the bathrooms.⭐️ Cool & Comfortable: Air conditioning is a lifesaver in this climate, and they nailed it.⭐️ Amazing Staff: Available 24/7, super friendly, and incredibly helpful. Check-in was a breeze!A few things to note:* It's a guest house, so expect a shared dorm experience.Overall: This guest house exceeded my expectations. The location and owner are great, but long-term residents have bad manners.One person monopolizes too much space, so when I move things around, I'm told not to touch them without permission.As someone who is also staying there for a long time, it is difficult to spend time there.I'm sure it will be resolved if you tell the owner, but it's painful to spend time in the same space as someone who doesn't have the minimum etiquette for a long-term stay.

Asibina Guesthouse was such a cocoon for me. I landed on the island without having booked an accommodation beforehand, so I really appreciate that Meg directly accepted my request for a dorm bed for the night itself as I knocked on her door. :)The guesthouse is owned by a family with two very polite children, you feel very welcomed and home in the shared spaces.I had a bed in the mixed dorm but was alone in the dorm for most of my 7-night stay.The kitchen is fully equipped, very clean and nice to use. There are two bathrooms (great shower pressure), three toilets, two washing machines and a dryer. All facilities are great and very clean.They also have private rooms and a female-only dorm.They have a big private parking lot if you need to park a car or scooter.Asibina is a 8-min walk from the center of Ishigaki, so very central without being in a busy street.During my stay, I kept extending my stay day after day, because I felt so comfortable thereMeg, thank you to you and your lovely family for hosting me. I will definitely come back if I travel to Ishigaki again.

It's close to remote island ferries, and the rooms are simple Japanese-style rooms, but the mattresses are thick and comfortable.Guests are not allowed to eat or drink in their rooms, so guests can enjoy their time in the shared space.The kitchen is easy to use, and the cleaning and equipment replacements are done in a timely manner, giving it a lived-in feel and a sense of cleanliness.I was warmly welcomed by the owner and his family and was able to spend a relaxing time there.

The beauty of a guest house is like no other.The dormitory space was spacious and I was able to spend a relaxing time.Although it is a little far from the downtown area of Ishigaki Island, we had a very quiet and relaxing time.Cats are friendly and soothing.

This hostel is run by the sweetest family. The atmosphere is so welcoming. The location is great and the house is super clean. Everything is provided with love and attention to detail. I already stayed two times and will definitely come again, if I visit Ishigaki.

I was grateful that the key was unlocked 24 hours a day so I could go out for drinks or go for a walk in the evening and then go home ☺️The owner's family is very nice and they are the ideal family ☺️ I wish I could have talked more with the guests 🥹 I will stay here again!
