Disappointing Cleanliness at a Convenient LocationMy partner and I just checked into the APA Hotel Shinjuku, and while we were prepared for a small room, we were taken aback by the level of dust and dirt we encountered. The central location is a major plus, as it puts you right in the heart of Shinjuku with plenty to do nearby. However, the condition of our room has overshadowed these advantages. I wasn’t expecting a five-star experience, but basic cleanliness is a must! Unfortunately, the windows, floors, walls, and all the crevices are noticeably dirty. They clean every 3 days, which is definitely not enough. These rooms need a deep clean! I reached out to the reception to inquire about switching rooms, but, unfortunately, nothing was available. Given the state of our current room, I fear that a move might not improve our experience. If you’re looking for a quiet place, this is not the hotel for you. You can hear noise from the streets, which is understandable given the central location. Additionally, the hotel hallways have an unsettling vibe, almost reminiscent of being in a jail, which adds to the overall disappointment.I’m truly looking forward to the end of our stay here. Based on this experience, I won’t be rebooking with APA or any of their other locations in the future. Please see the photos for reference.

Cramped rooms and in a horrible area of town. You walk a couple hundred meters away, you get assaulted by Nigerian scammers. Do not listen to them. Do not follow them. I did not feel safe as a solo traveler and canceled the rest of my stay. My final night there was noisy and I swear I was hearing gun shots, but surely not in Japan?? Ikebukuro, Shibuya, and Akihabara are all safer and cleaner areas. Props to APA for letting me cancel. Also no laundry!

We stayed for 5 nights, although the small rooms due to Japanese culture were a bit uncomfortable, the service received was great, I had no problems, everything was of high quality. Prices were around 3500₺ per night.
