The rooms are very simple and so is the breakfast. But Robert was very responsive to all our questions and very helpful during our stay with him. A very big thank you for lending us boots and letting our children play with your toys :)

Robert is truly amazing; he helps you with everything! Highly recommended if you're traveling alone. The view is fantastic, the rooms are clean, and there's hot water. He also helped me book tours and gave great suggestions for activities. He was a great help when my boat from Mentawai was canceled!

The View is a wonderful place I can highly recommend! The host Robert and his family take good care of you. For example, I got sick to my stomach the first night and Robert helped me with simple food to calm my stomach when the worst was over.Wonderful view of paradise. Simple, clean rooms with very comfortable double beds, good wifi and AC!If you want a spacious and beautiful accommodation, this is what you are looking for.

Thank you very much for a lovely 3-day stay. The owner - Robert, helped us a lot - he suggested many things and gave valuable tips. We also went on a very nice day trip with him and rented a scooter the next day. You can also order dinner or lunch for a fee - very good food. There is also a laundry service. The rooms were modest but clean, we had a large, comfortable bed. The place itself, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, with a beautiful view. Thank you again!

I couldn't recommend this place more highly. The owner (Robert) was incredibly helpful in every aspect of my stay. He provided a very comprehensive list of places to visit in Padang as well as all the additional information I needed to make my way around. I credit this with making this short trip one of the best holiday experiences of my life.I ended up renting a moped (which is a service they offer for 100k per day). Driving along the coastal road to the South of Padang, I saw some of the most stunning scenery in my entire 6-month stay in Sumatra.Padang has a lot for tourists (despite being largely untapped), and there are plenty of places to visit.

We stayed here at the view before heading out to the Mentawai islands. The only regret we have is we didn’t stay longer. The service was incredible from the airport to accommodation. The room and the view were breathtaking! Food was incredible and everyone so friendly and welcoming.

We booked this B&B in January 2024 for the view. We stayed for the incredibly nice family and its hearty welcome (and a bit for the view too : )All guesthouse facilities were clear beforehand and suited us (e.g. shared bathrooms, breakfast included, possibility of renting scooters or having delicious lunch or dinner onsite...). But really what made the difference was that Robert, Zumarni, Adam and the youngsters took fantastic care of us.

I suspect that this proprietor has obtained some unethical reviews as he told me he built his reputation through 'friends and family'. The view is great, but the service and facilities suck. I checked into the upstairs unit with a shared bathroom downstairs and it never got cold enough after 3 hours... I asked the host to either do something about it or cancel the reservation for a fee.He agreed to cover the holes but after 2 hours he never did. He only wanted to cover the air leaks with paper... He refused to cover the leak and insisted the room was cold enough and Indonesia is a hot country so I should deal with it. I decided to leave immediately and gave him what I thought the failed experience was worth. This turned into a confrontation with the man saying, "you see that I have the highest reviews in the city! But, somehow it's always the Americans that have a problem!"Somehow a dispute about room quality came down to one's nationality. His local wife apologized profusely as I shook my head in disgust and left. Americans should avoid this place, but maybe others will give a better review.

This place is not suitable for Muslims. Bathroom outside. And sharing a bathroom with a western man who owns this house. There are some western men. There is a dog kennel to stay. The environment is quite scary. The owner will definitely charge you if there is any damage to the foot of the bed. Around 100 thousand.. Not recommended for tourists or Muslim tours. Breakfast here is not a buffet. He just bought the lottery
