Already an absolute highlight of my 1 month trip to Japan and the best experience I have ever had on a trip. The family is so incredibly nice and interested in you, they give you all kinds of tips to plan your day. They know the area like the back of their hand and also help you to reserve seats in restaurants. In general, the information they have available, summarized and immediately apparent, is not a matter of course. My arrival alone was so nice, the owner immediately took my suitcase to my room and showed me around the hotel.Very quiet location and the onsen are a dream. The outdoor onsen is worth every little extra yen.Rooms are very nice and big, if you come directly from Tokyo almost a little culture shock regarding the size and of course the green.I will finish my review now, I could go on like this forever. To make a long story short: a must-book!I'll be sure to stop by again on my next trip to Japan.Playing kendama with the owner (or rather the owner's son) made my breakfast even sweeter. All the Best,Dominik

This was probably my favourite place to stay during our three week trip. The host was amazing and helped us decide where to eat dinner and gave us loads of tips to make the most of our time in Hakone. We luxuriated in the private outdoor and indoor onsens, happy to enjoy this feature given that our group all had tattoos. The view we had from our room into the trees and hydrangeas was amazing, with the backdrop of nature sounds making sleeping here so easy. It’s not right near the main tourist areas, so if you want some seclusion after being in the big city I highly recommend it. We could have stayed more than our one night and hope to be back again in a few years with our kids!

We had an amazing stay at this place! The owner was very hospitable and gave us a tour when we came in - he even let us check in early because our room was already clean. We really enjoyed the onsens and were able to reserve them very easily multiple times during our few days in Hakone. The staff also helped us with lots of information about what to do in Hakone and how to get the bus pass. We also loved the rooms - they were absolutely beautiful, really comfortable, and definitely our favorite from our 2 weeks in Japan. Cannot recommend this place enough! 🩷
