I think this is an inn in the not-so-cheap price range, but there is no reception at the door, no welcome drink, etc. (There were sweets in the room)I carried all my luggage into the room myself. There are also rooms with open-air baths, but there are no open-air baths in the large public bath. Please note that if you are looking for an open-air bath, you will have to choose a room with an open-air bath.It was my fault for not looking into the details, but I was disappointed because I had assumed that there was an open-air bath.Apparently there used to be one, but it disappeared due to renovations. There is also an additional charge for the family bath. The inside of the building has been recently renovated, so it has a clean and calm atmosphere. However, the information booklet in the room had not been updated since before the renovation, and some parts were different from the current facilities, so there were some parts that were not helpful. The food was satisfying in both quality and quantity. You can have a futon laid out in your room during dinner, but the futon was so thin and fluffy that my back hurt after sleeping all night. The staff was polite and pleasant, but I got the impression that the customer service system was simplified, perhaps because there were fewer people.I'm not saying it's a bad inn, but I can't help but feel that it was a little different from the so-called good hot spring inn I had imagined before arriving.I think the quality of the staff, facilities, and equipment are good, so I personally think it would be a better inn if the overall system was reviewed a little more (although I would like an open-air bath...).

1. The food is very delicious, especially the dinner set. So far I have visited 4-5 ryokan with dinner and breakfast meals, and this is the best one. It is worth the pricey hotel fee. Besides, the hotel will allocate a dining room for each family guests at the same floor, giving sufficient privacy to the guests. Hence, the room density of the hotel is not large and this gives a quiet and peaceful environment.2. The service is also very good, the people here are very friendly and helpful.3. The only bad thing is the location is not suitable for those who used to travel on foot. It is better to reach here by car and there are sufficient car parks.

My friends and I spent a night at the Marukyu Inn during our trip to Japan in May. When we arrived, we were politely greeted by the staff who were all lined up outside awaiting our arrival. They then ushered us into a reception area where cold drinks were served immediately (a life-saver given the heat that day) as we filled out some paperwork during the check in process. These small gestures immediately made us feel welcomed and was a preview of the fantastic level of service that we would receive throughout our stay. All members of staff were incredibly polite, courteous, and professional. Because we were fairly ignorant about Japanese customs and habits, I had asked a large number of fairly basic questions. However, the staff patiently answered all of them and provided us with helpful explanations for things such as how to use the baths and how to best enjoy each course during dinner service. Because I spoke a basic level of Japanese, I was able to communicate with the staff fairly easily. However, I heard from other members of our party that the staff were also able to communicate the necessities in English when I wasn't around to translate. All in all, it was a fantastic experience and a great way to experience what it's like to stay in a traditional-style Japanese inn.We were tourists from Canada, and our Japanese wasn't very good, so at first I was worried, ``Are we okay? Will we be able to communicate?'' However, from the moment we arrived, the staff welcomed us very politely and spoke to us slowly and in an easy-to-understand manner. Since we were ignorant of Japanese hotel etiquette, we asked a lot of stupid questions. However, the staff were kind and answered all my questions slowly. After doing so, we felt strong and at ease. I myself can speak a little Japanese, but everyone else in the group can only speak English. However, when I wasn't there, the staff tried their best to speak to them in English. I asked them about it later and they said they got it all right.I'd like to see it. I really appreciate the kind treatment I received from the staff. I have recommended Minamaruhisa Ryokan to friends who want to travel to Japan.

This time, we stayed in two rooms with open-air baths (barrier-free). It looked very nice from the outside and I was greeted properly. The room was spacious and clean, which I thought was good. However, while one room looked the same as the guest room and open-air bath shown on the inn's website and travel website, the other room was a completely different room. The open-air situation in the room was different from the photo with a stone bathtub. It was explained to me on the day of arrival without any explanation, and I paid the same price. Moreover, the open-air bathtub in the guest room is small, which is disappointing. If you are disabled-friendly, it would be difficult to get in and out of the bathtub unless it is a little more spacious. The private open-air bath was very comfortable. The food was Japanese-style kaiseki, and the golden sea bream was delicious. It was well seasoned, and to be honest, it came out towards the end, so I was so full that I was only able to eat a little.Alcohol is expensive. I didn't feel like drinking at a bar unless I ordered it as an aperitif.Lastly, there are geta for getting around the room, but they are for men and the hanao are too thick, so they just hurt. There are also tabi socks for socks, which I think is a nice touch...I think it would be good to have slippers for women.Even though I have to travel to where to eat and to go to the private open-air bath, it's just a pain to get around in those painful geta shoes.Honestly, I don't know if there will be a next time.

My wife, two daughters, and grandson took care of him. I requested a meal that wasn't on the menu for my grandson, who is currently a picky eater, and he happily accommodated it.I really appreciate the friendly customer service of the female staff. The room with a semi-open-air bath was also spacious and relaxing. Shuzenji's hot springs are very good! The public bath was under renovation and there was no announcement when I made my reservation in March, so I was disappointed that I couldn't enter. However, I was satisfied with the open-air bath in my room, so my family had no complaints. I felt that the level of satisfaction with the trip was increased by the management of the facilities and the interaction of the people. I'm glad I stayed here for two nights.I would like to enjoy the public bath someday.

A long-established inn located in a remote location away from the Shuzenji hot spring town. The interior has been renewed and there are also guest rooms specially designed for disabled guests. There is a large public bath, an open-air bath, and a free private open-air bath. Meals are basically Kaiseki cuisine served in a private dining room. The chef is proud of his dishes, which are made using local ingredients. The number of staff members is small and there is no system in place to greet guests or see them off. However, they will guide you to the room and provide explanations. Although the staff's response has been simplified, I did not experience any particular problems. The price is reasonable, and even the elderly can use it with peace of mind, which is highly rated. In particular, I felt that having a spacious guest room that can be used without any inconvenience in a wheelchair is important and in high demand in the coming era.
