Atami City, Shizuoka Prefecture “Atami Spring Terrace Hotel”Japanese style room (25 square meters) with no toilet and washstand, futonStayed for 3 people for about 3,600 yen per person including bathing tax.Parking fee 1000 yen"it was good"※bathThe bath itself was small, with four washing areas, but there was plenty of space. The shower also doesn't stop automatically. There were toiletries and enough towels in the bathroom.*Inside the buildingThe hallway was well air conditioned so I didn't feel hot. There is a shared rooftop terrace with a spectacular view.※roomThe futon was comfortable.“It was bad.”*Inside the buildingStairs with no elevator. The lights in the hallway are automatic, and it takes a while for them to turn on.※roomThe room has no view and is dark even during the day. There are places where the tatami mats are limp. Blood-like stains on the sliding door

We spent one night in this hotel after watching the Atami Fireworks Festival. Strictly speaking this is not a hotel, it is a small hotel.Place:Although the direct distance from Atami Station is very close, you need to walk a lot of slopes or steps to get to the hotel. It is definitely not recommended to walk to the hotel with your luggage, as you will be very tired. It is recommended to take a taxi or drive yourself. By the way, the parking fee is 1,000 yen per night.Check-in arrangements:The hotel will email you the password for the room lock and check-in information before you arrive. There is no need for any formalities when leaving the hotel, which is very convenient.equipment:We stayed in the cheapest room type. The room was very spacious. It had a traditional Japanese tatami layout and could accommodate four people. You had to take out the mattresses from the cabinet and make the bed yourself. Four suitcases could be unfolded at the same time, giving it a full sense of space. In addition to bedding, there is a wash basin, mirror, small refrigerator and glasses available in the room. Please note that there are no personal cleaning products such as hair dryers, toothpaste and toothbrushes in the room. You need to go to the large bath on the first floor to use them. There is no bathroom or toilet in the room. The restroom needs to be shared with passengers on the same floor, and the bathroom is outside the large bathing area on the first floor. If you mind sharing the bathroom with strangers, this is not the hotel for you.Of course, if you can pay a higher price, there are also rooms with private bathrooms available.

We had a fantastic experience here! The room was very spacious and extremely clean. I loved the traditional style living space. Our room included a washing machine which was very useful after a long day in the sun and at the beach. The hotel is very very close to the station, but on a steep hill. I would recommend a taxi if you have heavy bags, but at night we found the location to be convenient for walking to dinner or bars. The private onsen was a great touch as well - quiet, private, and the perfect temperature!

This hotel is located on a very steep hillside; after exiting JR Atami Station, it is recommended to go to the bus stop and the hot spring footbath area (on the left) and go up a small path next to the station luggage storage area. It is relatively flat but requires some climbing. Just like climbing stairs; if your luggage is particularly large, it will be like exercising. It can be reached by walking about 800-1 kilometers. There is nothing on the mountain, so you have to buy it at the bottom of the mountain. It is not recommended (Google recommends) to go down Pinghe Shopping Street and take a small road next to a grilled fish restaurant on the road; this is the hell fitness road! It’s so steep that it’s too steep; the suitcase’s wheels aren’t strong enough, so I’m waiting for a tire to burst🤣 As I walk up the hill, I find it’s a driveway; almost everyone takes a taxi. The hotel provides self-service check-in; you will be given a set of passwords after reporting to the front desk staff; you can enter and check out independently. The room is decorated with Japanese traditional Japanese style takumi; if you check in early, you need to wait for the receptionist; he will help you take your luggage to the room. But there was no help in making the bed; so I had to make the bed and make the quilt myself. In addition to family-style rooms with toilets, the rest of the rooms have toilets outside, and the bathroom is a large bathhouse! You can bathe in hot springs, but if you have public baggage and are afraid to bathe together or are on your period, you need to consider this yourself. The hotel is located on a high slope, so it is a great place to watch the fireworks; you can easily watch them on the hotel terrace without crowds! The hotel provides yukata for bathing; if you want to experience it, you can wear it and take photos. The taxi ride to the hotel costs about 5,000 yen.If you are traveling on a budget or are elderly, just take a taxi from the taxi stand on the left side of the station!

Beautiful room with private onsen (hot spring) at a nice location. Nice steep walk up from the train station to get to the hotel (could be challenging with heavy luggage).Friendly and accommodating service and they were happy to lend us an HDMI cable to use to connect with the humongous TV screen in the room.

It's a place you can't get to without climbing a steep hill...but it's quiet and relaxing even though it's close to the station. The toilet is shared, so sometimes you have to leave your room to access it.

The interior decoration is very old, but the boss's service is 100%!There are only 2 floors inside, and there is a bathhouse (also a place for bathing) underground.Tatami is very comfortable and provides clean sheets for sleeping TatamiBreakfast is ¥500 and comes with 8 wontons, very delicious ❤️The boss even changed into a chef uniform to deliver food, but he told us he was not the boss 😂😂Satisfied and checked outIt is possible to go up there, but it is not recommended for the elderly.Because the road is very sloping, it is recommended to call a taxi if there are elderly people traveling with you.

As a hotel, I was very satisfied. There was a hot spring, and after the hot spring, we were able to play table tennis, which the children enjoyed. As for the service, we did everything ourselves, we had a tablet to check in, and we just left the hotel without checking out. I never had any contact with the hotel staff. The location is up a fairly steep hill, so we recommend taking a taxi from the station. The view towards Atami from the rooftop was very nice.
