Spent Monday night with a friend who’s visiting Japan. It’s a western style onsen hotel, and our room was definitely “western” style. The bed is soft and over all is quite clean. (I personally would prefer Japanese style hotel for onsen trip. ) but to be honest the style kinda looks like a government owned hotel in China in the 90s.The food was very good! We had dinner and breakfast in the hotel, both buffet style and I have no complaint at all. Might come back just for the food. The onsen is not bad, however not really “outdoor”. But the big canopy over the head might be just because of the rain? The location is convenient even if you come in public h transportation. Only a few minutes walk from the bus station. If you love walking, you can also walk to the famous reed grassland.

I chose this hotel because of the good reviews for the food and baths. We were greeted brightly at the front desk, and even greeted with welcome sweets in the lobby. The food was also very delicious, with asparagus meat rolls as the main dish, churrasco, and omelettes. However, the atmosphere in the restaurant was not good. There weren't many smiles from the staff, and the person standing at the entrance was being reprimanded with strong words by other staff members. Even at breakfast, the voices of greetings were low, and at the reception desk, I was greeted in a gruff manner, which made me feel very uncomfortable, and I was unable to enjoy my meal.Since people come to hotels not only to stay overnight, but also to enjoy the hot springs and meals, I think the restaurant's customer service and atmosphere need improvement.

It's right next to the Pola Museum of Art, and we checked in immediately after viewing the Pola Museum of Art until around 5pm.I thought it would be quick, but there was free table soccer, paid table tennis, and karaoke facilities, so I was able to kill time! The rooms and public bath are not new, but they have been renovated and look clean.

Meals were a buffet in the morning and evening, so I could eat whatever I wanted. The staff also helped us as it was raining.

About 15 minutes walk to Sengokuhara Pampas Grass. It was renovated in 2024, so the entrance and lobby floor are clean and relaxing. When you enter, you can smell the scent of ZARA Home from the large diffuser. Most of the staff are unassuming and polite.Free parking is available down the side of the hotel. The guest rooms and bathrooms are quite rundown and worse than a business hotel, so it's better to clean areas where dust and dirt have accumulated, such as sunburn on the windows, as they can be cleaned quickly.Owakudani's hot springs have good hot water, as per their reputation, and the changing rooms have lockers with keys.Although the buffet is by no means high-end, everything seems to be in good order, and I am satisfied with everything except for the desserts, with the live kitchen's shellasco being stiff and dry.Although the price is not much different from that of a business hotel, the price of around 15,000 yen/person, which includes an evening and morning buffet, is quite cost-effective and overall satisfying.
