Itoya stands in the center of historic Yugawara Onsen. As soon as you step inside, you will be surrounded by the nostalgic warmth of wood and tranquility. The unique atmosphere of a long-established store, founded in 1898, can be felt everywhere, making you feel as if you have traveled back in time. The guest rooms have a pure Japanese style and a calm atmosphere. You can see the lush garden from the window and feel at ease. The hot springs had an abundant amount of hot water, allowing us to slowly warm up our bodies.Dinner is a kaiseki meal using seasonal ingredients. It looks beautiful, tastes great, and is very satisfying. The breakfast was delicious with hot dried fish.Part of the building is a registered tangible cultural property. You can tell that it is a historical inn, as it was loved by many literary figures, including Toson Shimazaki. Recommended for people who want to spend their time in peace rather than luxury.Overall, it is a calm inn with a sense of history and tradition. It is perfect for those who want to forget about everyday life and spend a relaxing time.

The closest private baths are No. 53, No. 51, and No. 52. In particular, number 53 is close by, so you can check it by opening the door. What was bothersome about my stay was that I could directly hear footsteps coming from the room above. It's normal to hear it because of the structure. When I stayed this time, I couldn't sleep because I was being walked around endlessly until around 1am. If the older one was a child, it might be incomparably more difficult. Therefore, we recommend the top floor for adults who can stay quiet. Please note that the 3rd floor is number 52, the 2nd floor is number 51, and the 1st floor is number 53.

Visited in August. Although the price is reasonable, the food is on par with, or even lower than, other inns. This was the bath I was most looking forward to, but even in the private open-air bath, the visibility was poor and the water was lukewarm...(It's almost like a cold bath) Even though I was taking a bath, I felt cold, which was very unpleasant.I feel stupid for coming all the way. The service is also decent. The food is also decent. I don't even want to comment on hot springs anymore. Perhaps it's the atmosphere of the main building. I stayed in the new building, so I didn't even get to experience it.It's a shame because I paid a lot of money for it.I don't really recommend it.

An inn that is a registered tangible cultural property. I stayed at number 52 for one night. The room is absolutely stunning. The greenery from the window was beautiful, and although it was raining unfortunately, it added to the atmosphere and I was able to relax and enjoy myself to my heart's content.I was able to enter both the private open-air bath and the semi-open-air bath smoothly, and the temperature of the hot water was fine, so I didn't feel any inconvenience. It may have been empty on weekdays. What was very disappointing was Mr. Nakai's response to the meal. There are two time slots to choose from. When I asked for a late dinner, they strongly recommended an early one, and in the morning they called me 10 minutes early to remind me.Also, during dinner, Mr. Nakai said, ``I'm going to open the lid of the pot,'' but even after the fire went out, Mr. Nakai did not come back. There seem to be a lot of people who were impressed by the service, so maybe it was just bad luck. The restaurant was simple and noisy, which gave me the impression that it was out of balance with the room I stayed in. Even if it is not possible to have meals in the special room, why not at least have a private room? This is the inn where Toson Shimazaki went. An inn that was involved in the 2.26 incident. Room 52, the oldest room in the ryokan, is a shoin-zukuri style room that I've always wanted to stay in. I am satisfied because the room was more wonderful than I expected. However, I couldn't find anything noteworthy other than that, so I don't think I'll visit again.

An inn that is a registered tangible cultural property. I am enchanted by the Taisho era construction. The hot spring is in Yugawara, but it has water circulation filtration and disinfection...It was nice to be able to reserve it for private use.The food was delicious and it was nice to be able to eat in a private room.

I stayed here with my grandmother and children on a four-generation trip, and all the employees were very kind and treated us with kindness and politeness. Although it is a historic building, it was clean and the food was delicious. There are many old inns around the area, located on quaint streets. I thought the location was very good as the bus stop was right in front of me, so I could leave my luggage there and go for a walk around the nearby Manyo Park or Yumoto Street.

From Yugawara Station, take a bus to the hotel. There is a bus stop right in front of the inn. After checking in, I was guided to the bathroom and went to my room. …

FujimuraThe inn where Fujison stayed.I stayed in a cultural heritage room built in the Taisho era. It's an old folk house, probably because it's been well-maintained even though it's been around for a long time, so there wasn't any creaking noise, and I could barely hear the noise from the room next door.Although the hotel was fully booked, I took the much talked about private bath four times and thoroughly enjoyed the hot springs. The food was delicious and had a light taste, bringing out the best of the ingredients.
