It was dirty from the moment I walked in the door. I had booked for 2 nights, but I had no choice but to stay for just 1 night.

Since I did not stay there, all evaluations will be as normal m(*_ _)mI have taken foreign backpackers from Haneda Airport T3 several times. It's a completely residential area, and it doesn't look like a hotel from the outside → It's really a company dormitory (lol)The area is quite quiet at night, and the location is about 30 meters down a dead-end alley, so it may be quite difficult to visit for the first time. For shopping, there is a supermarket across the station from the station during the day, and a convenience store is within walking distance, but once the last train has passed, you can't move around at all 🤷‍♂️

I recently stayed at the Hotel RUMa INN Rokugoudote and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The hotel offers great value for money, making it an excellent choice for budget-conscious travelers. The facilities are well-maintained, and the cleanliness throughout the property is commendable. One area that needs improvement is the bed in the room I stayed in. It was quite noisy, which disrupted an otherwise restful night's sleep. If the hotel can address this issue, it would significantly enhance the comfort level for future guests.Aside from this minor inconvenience, everything else was satisfactory. The location is convenient, with easy access to public transportation and nearby attractions. Additionally, the amenities provided, such as free Wi-Fi and a hearty breakfast, add to the overall positive experience. In summary, Hotel RUMa INN Rokugoudote is a good choice for travelers looking for an affordable and pleasant stay. Fixing the noisy bed would elevate the experience even further. Despite this, it remains a great option for those seeking value for money in their accommodation.

Enjoyed - was a bit confused by the email check-in policy so if you’re coming from out of the country, find WiFi & check your email for directions how to check in

Insecure and unsafe! Avoid. The hotel was one of only a very limited number for my overnight trip and it’s the worst place I ever stayed in Tokyo. And the price was at a high peak cost, for one night (over 10,000¥).Firstly, the building door lock was broken, so anyone could enter to access every room door (room, toilet and shower). The room door handle was hanging out and the door had a gap that could be seen inside from the outside common hallway. The room itself had dust everywhere, and by the nature of the building you could hear all neighbouring rooms (even though everyone was well behaved) and you could even hear the trains running passed from early morning to late night. The mattresses were so thin, it caused painful pressure points. For the common areas, they were just messy and dirty, the microwave was broken and the shower room floor had sticky pieces over it. The shared sink area was in the common hallway, so everyone could see you preparing when they were passing by. There was no closed area and it felt very awkward. They charged you for fresh sheets and towels too.On the day of checkout, the staff entered the room without knocking or calling out at 10:45, and we were preparing ourselves to leave (11:00 checkout). The staff then entered the room again at 10:55, again without warning, and said it was soon time to leave, although at this time my patience was thinned so I said we have 5 minutes, but in fact we were already packed and moving next to vacate the room. We left exactly at 10:56. This “hotel” is unprofessional and rude. This is not a proper business hotel, just a scam to make money from people without better knowledge of their facility. So, I’m writing this to inform others and don’t get caught in this bad place like we were. The only advantage was the location was convenient, being less than two minutes from Rokugodote station. And the foam pillows were comfortable, but no two benefits could negate the very poor remainder of this place.

We stayed at the Ruma Inn Rokugoudote for seven days in February 2024 and this is my review.I'll start with a few things that I liked.I liked that the place was accurate when it came to all the amenities the building itself and what the room looks like in the pictures. It is very accurate. I like that there is a kitchen with a microwave and a heating kettle. I like that there is free laundry where I can wash and dry clothes and there is free detergent for us to use. I liked the fact that the shower and toilet area were fairly clean and there were free toiletries, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner.I also liked that there's a mini fridge within the room so we can store the leftovers of everything that we got from the nearby supermarket. Having leftovers was clutch when you are hungry in the middle of the night and you don’t want to get dressed for the cold outside. The room had a table as well for us to eat on and a working AC/heater. Since we visited in Feb, it was soo cold outside that the heating function was very important. We also got a clean towel, a free toothbrush and a pair of slippers. Also one each.As for the location I liked the part where it is literally steps away from the closest train station and there is a nearby convenience store and supermarket. The last thing I liked about this place is that it's affordable and so much cheaper compared to the other places I looked at around Tokyo. My main gripe would be the location in comparison to the tourist spots that you usually go to in Tokyo. Now this is where we start with the things I didn't like.Starting off with the location. Again, this place is quite far out. It took us an hour from the place to get to Shinjuku or Shibuya and an hour and a half even just to get to Skytree and Asakusa so it's very inconvenient in that sense. Imagine having to travel two hours every day just to get to the tourist locations. That's what we did. We also worked around it somewhat so instead of going to Tokyo tourist spots we just went to other locations that were closer like Chinatown in Yokohama and the Giant Buddha in Kamakura.Looking for this place via Google Maps was also tricky because the name of the place on Google Maps was different but it looks the same so we just consider it as the same place. It was called Grandouce Rokugoudote. I suggest that they change the name so that it matches. The next thing I didn't like about this place was the sound insulation. I guess you don't really have a choice if there are strangers living near you but then again if somebody is moving around, talking, snoring or just the train nearby passing by you can hear everything. If you are a light sleeper it's gonna bug you so much. Also, when the train passes by you can feel your bed shaking. This might also be a deal breaker for you. You can also clearly hear if someone is doing laundry in your room, or when the door lock has an error and an alarm will play. When it comes to sleep, you might not be too comfortable because they only provide some sort of futon instead of the mattress. It's really gonna depend on you if you can sleep well or not but in our case we were able to sleep just fine. Got a bit of backache I guess but overall we got her rest.I didn't like that there was no second chair in the room. They only had one chair provided. This sucks for the second person in the room because you can't sit on the side of the bed. The lower bed has a railing that you can't really sit on so you can only sit awkwardly on the section with the opening or sit on the floor. I just didn’t sit. I stood while my mom sat on the chair, and when she was not sitting down on the chair, that would be the only time I could sit on the chair myself. If only they had either a second chair or no railing on the side of the bed, then we would have less of an issue. We did not see any staff during our stay. So, I can’t really say much about them.I suggested that they add a guide on how to use the door lock if there was an error. I sent this via the message option on the Booking app. On our end

It's good to have a private room with a lock and an air conditioner. As there is no manager and the showers and toilets are shared, it is difficult for a single girl to do so. Also, I was concerned that the mat and sheets were old.

The bed squeaked and was way too noisy. The battery at the entrance was also dead and it was too noisy.Soundproofing is zero. The quality of the shampoo and conditioner is also low and can actually damage your hair, so it's better to bring them separately. The door was opened without permission when the hotel was cleaning. However, I was happy to have a washer and dryer. It would be a good place to stay for a few days cheaply.
