The most perfect place I have ever stayed in Japan. My only regret was that I was travelling on my own and had no-one to share the experience with!

Beautiful hotel with very friendly staff. The interior is extremely traditional and the building was made using mostly local materials, and features artwork made of Minowashi (traditional paper) and sand from the local Nagara river. Western beds are available as well. The garden is beautiful, and the surrounding Udatsu district invites you to a hearty shopping tour.Directly adjacent, there is a Washi paper shop featuring a decade-old practice by local artists.

I stayed at the YAMASITI building. The atmosphere in the room was very calm and I had a relaxing time!As mentioned on the website, those who are afraid of insects should have the courage to stay here! There were mainly ants on the floor (in several places), which was okay during the day, but it was disappointing that they were on the bed at night. It can't be helped because it's a natural thing such as the surrounding environment, but I decided to write a review in case there is a way to deal with it!Other than that, we had a really good time. thank you very much!

I thought the other reviews were probably Sakura.I made a reservation with a plan that included dinner, but since it was a smoking restaurant and it seemed like there would be a lot of scary-looking people gathering, when I told them that, they changed it to a plan that didn't include dinner. However, the price has not changed and I am no longer able to cancel on the reservation site, so I have requested to cancel my stay several times several days before the cancellation fee is due, but my phone calls are not answered at all, and even when I contact you by email, I receive no response. There was no reply, and I thought I had finally made a connection, but the cancellation procedure had not yet been completed, and I thought that the person in charge said, "I will cancel," but without completing the procedure, I was faced with the day when I would have to incur a cancellation fee...(Just to be on the safe side, I took collateral from travel websites, phone calls, emails, etc. a few days ago, so if I get a bill, I will sue for fraud...)I had no idea there were such bad accommodations.I am now afraid to even visit this town.Everyone, please be very careful.

I stayed in the full moon room. The floor remains from 100 years ago, the wavy-shaped unrivaled window (I was told about it),A space where you can deeply feel the lifestyle of the time, including the elaborately designed transoms. The garden that can be seen from the room is wonderful, and you can open the shoji screen wide and look at the garden.I had a relaxing time. The townscape still retains a strong atmosphere from the Edo period, and it's worth just strolling around. The building itself is bigger than I expected. After checking out, we were shown other rooms. It's fun to see the different atmospheres in all the rooms, but what caught my attention even more was theThe wallpaper was made with washi paper in various colors and textures, with the addition of soil.I didn't know that Japanese paper could be used like this. It's now even more fun to see the Japanese paper shop attached to the hotel and the shops in town. The distance between the staff is just right, and you don't have to worry too much about it.The Japanese sweets you recommended were also delicious. If you ask me, I often spend my time reading books,There is a bedside table with books about local history etc.I felt that it would be a more meaningful stay.I was able to spend a relaxing time away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.I would like to stay in a different room again in a different season.Thank you for your wonderful time.

This inn is a beautiful combination of a renovated old folk house and Mino washi paper! This time, I stayed in a spacious two-story room called Yomei-den.You can read or enjoy a relaxing conversation away from the hustle and bustle of the city. There are places where you can take a footbath outside, so it's perfect. The bath in the room was my favorite place as it had a nice cypress scent.Take a walk while being impressed by the beauty of Udatsu's townscape, which will make you feel like you have traveled back in time. It's very refreshing.I think it will be difficult to maintain, but I hope it continues to exist forever. The breakfast is also very luxurious and will fill you up.I was able to see a lot of Mino Washi at the attached Washi-nary, which was really fun.

I wanted to live in an old folk house like this, a comfortable and easy-to-spend inn, and even though it was a warehouse, I was able to spend a leisurely and enjoyable time with my pet. It's a great place for pets to spend time without having to worry about noise, and my dogs were very happy with the garden. This is a good place when you want to relax
