Our stay was warm and friendly. |Haruka went far beyond meeting our needs with her thoughtfulness, kindness and generosity. She is a fine representative of this compassionate culture. We would be happy to return to this ryokan just to see her again. And yes , the Osen was fabulous.

An exquisite little hotel with friendly service. There is a fireplace in the room so you can experience it yourself. There is also a beautiful yukata experience at no extra charge. My family and I went out to buy food and went back to the hotel to try out the yukata and irori while eating. It felt very comfortable and unforgettable! The only thing to note is that there is no shower room in the room, so you have to go to the large bath to bathe. The bath is not too big, but there are not many guests, so it is spacious and comfortable! Would recommend it to couples and couples who like alternative experiences for a slow lifestyle. There is also a parking lot, which is convenient! But if you want to walk to the city center, it takes 30 minutes.

Very good ryokan experience, especially from Okami and her staff. Felt welcomed and make sure our stay was perfect. Bonus there was even free Yukata rental, which they helped us put on and allowed us to walk around the city

Truly one of the best stays I have ever had!By accident, I arrived a day earlier than our reservation. I was very embarrassed when the mistake was discovered but the staff at Hidaya were very gracious and allowed me to rest in the reception area. The staff prepared me tea and shared the wifi password with me so that I could contact my travel partners. I was very moved at their kindness. Our actual stay was wonderful! We greatly enjoyed the experience of staying in a tatami room and sleeping on futons. There were many free services offered by the ryokan that we did not have time to take advantage of including free yukatas that you could wear outside the ryokan and free herbal tea. The onsen was small but very relaxing after a long day of exploring Takayama.

Ryokan with tattoo friendly onsen. Very few very large rooms, very kind staff beyond all expectations; they offer the possibility of free rental of Kimonos and/or yukatas for the evening.  …

Traditional Japanese roadside hotel located in the southern part of Takayama. It is a little far from the historic center, about 25 minutes on foot, in an area of industrial buildings and large commercial establishments. It is ideal if you travel by car, because it is very accessible and has parking. To highlight: it is a cozy hotel, the rooms are spacious and have more than one space (one for sleeping and the other with a fire on the floor in addition to the sink and toilet area); it has a very friendly staff that helps you with everything you may need; the public onsens are made of wood, which we really liked, and they have an area where you can get snacks and Japanese treats for free, it's hard not to fall into temptation!Things that we don't value so positively: the proximity to a very busy road, which is a bit too far from the center, and it doesn't have a lot of restaurants in the vicinity and the surroundings are not very interesting. However, our stay was very pleasant and we recommend it without hesitation!

Excellent family stay (4). The hosts are adorable while being professional and provide excellent advice.Perfect breakfast and very pleasant Onsen. The place is a little far from the train station or the city center to go on foot. Take a taxi (why bother for 1000Y?)You should also know that the showers are those of the Onsen. An excellent stay
