This place was an absolute delight! I stayed here with a friend. The private onsen was lovely, and because there are only 3 rooms and no back-to-back bookings (reserve for 1 hour max at a time), it seems like everyone was able to reasonably use the onsen. Futons were comfortable, area is quiet, room temperature control was to our liking. Breakfast was also a really cute set, filling, and delicious! The staff at Box Burger in the same building were friendly and welcoming. We only stayed for one night and decided on food elsewhere, but I would have loved to have extended our stay and try one of their burgers! If I visit Hakone again, I would definitely consider staying here for longer!

This inn used to be a geisha house. It's very atmospheric. I think foreigners and women prefer it.Room 1 was probably the largest of the three rooms. In addition to 6 tatami mats, a wide veranda surrounds two sides.Self-check-in is required, but if the hamburger shop on the first floor is open, the staff will kindly assist you.Breakfast is pumpkin soup, bread, and coffee. It was even more delicious than I expected! Warm it up using the toaster and microwave right in front of the room. We sat at a table on the wide veranda and enjoyed the morning in Hakone while listening to the sound of the river.Although the hot spring is small, it is reserved for private use, so there is no problem (you will make a reservation by pasting the room tag on the whiteboard). However, if you are tall, please be aware that the changing area has a low ceiling.Although it is an old inn, it was well kept and it was a pleasant stay. The birthplace of Hakone Onsen is also nearby. Good for a morning walk.

The daily breakfast and amenities, including the 1 hour/person private onsen time slot made this place the most memorable hotel stay of my recent memoryThe host was warm and served burgers during the afternoon in the downstairs kitchen. Overall I would highly recommend a stay here.

Enjoyed a stay here with friends. We had both the traditional tatami room and one with a standard Western bed.The provided breakfast was quite decent and included a soup, bread, and sweet bread. They also provide coffee, black tea, and green tea.The onsen is really nice, and the scheduling system is really helpful to make sure you can enjoy it privately. The check-in and check out procedure through the tablet was very easy as a Japanese resident, but I'm aware that for travelling foreigners, it was a bit more complicated. Be sure to have your passport on hand. There aren't always staff there, but the restaurant staff on the first floor were very helpful and lovely. The river outside is quite loud, but I personally found the flowing water sound quite relaxing.

A great small ryokan, with a really good burgers on the first floor, and an onsen in the basement. About 5-10min from the train station. We stayed one night between Tokyo and Kyoto, and it was a great experience! There are only three rooms, so it's a really quiet place. The restaurant has good food, and the staff were invredibly friendly. There's a small onsen that can be booked on a per-room basis, so it's private. The rooms were quite spacious, and had traditional sleeping arrangements. The breakfast is meant to be prepared in the room, and while not fresh, both the soup and pastry tasted good. Also specialty coffee is included.A really nice place for a quiet night!
